AIMS AND OBJECTIVES

The business world has faced dramatic changes over the past 5 to 10 years. Customers are demanding higher-quality products and quicker delivery; the global marketplace is rapidly expanding; information technology and electronic commerce are changing the way businesses operate. In response, many firms have abandoned traditional channels of distribution and are rebuilding around the logistics, or Supply Chain Management (SCM), model: a process-oriented, integrated approach to procuring, producing, and delivering products and services to customers. To implement and maintain this approach, companies need managers with a thorough understanding of supply chain management. The scarcity of qualified people means that a master degree in supply chain management will put you in great demand in the marketplace. Our program provides graduates with an advanced understanding of principles, practice and skills in the area of logistics and supply chain management for a career in manufacturing, distribution, and related industries. At the completion of this program, students who have mastered the curriculum will be able to: Demonstrate their understanding of the principles of world class supply chain management. Identify gaps between their organisations processes and world class processes. Demonstrate teamwork and team leadership skills. Plan for and conduct negotiations successfully and ethically Apply project management practices to real world problems. Demonstrate mastery of the principles of world class supply chain management. Demonstrate success as an ethical leader in supply chain management. Develop suppliers to be high performance contributors to their common supply chain. Be agents of successful, ethical change, through planning and implementation of a significant change. Be able to successfully deal with uncertainty in the management of supply chains.
