¡Hola a todos! Hoy vamos a ver cómo hacer preguntas en inglés
con who, what, where, when, why, how.
O sea, seguimos con el curso de inglés básico.
En inglés, tenemos dos tipos básicos de pregunta: las preguntas que se
contestan yes / no y las preguntas abiertas.
Como hemos visto en los artículos del verbo to be y el presente simple,
usamos la respuesta corta para las preguntas yes / no. No hace falta más
información.
Q: Are you English?
A: No, I’m not.
Q: Are you sleepy?
A: Yes, I am.
Q: Do you live in Paris?
A: No, I don’t.
Q: Do you work in a shop?
A: Yes, I do.

Cómo hacer preguntas en inglés: who,

what, where, when, why y how
Las preguntas abiertas empiezan con una palabra
como who, what, where, etc. Y tenemos que contestar con más
información.
Q: Where do you live?
A: I live in Dublin.
Q: What do you do?
A: I’m a shop assistant.
Aquí tienes las traducciones:

Who = quién
What = qué
Where = dónde
When = cuándo
Why = por qué
How = cómo
Y a continuación, veremos algunos ejemplos de cómo hacer preguntas en

Aquí vamos a ver ejemplos de cómo hacer las preguntas abiertas en inglés y
de cómo contestarlas también. Quizá te interesa un video que he hecho
con 12 preguntas para empezar a hablar ya.
Ejemplos de cómo hacer preguntas en
inglés con who, what, where…
Para hacer las preguntas abiertas, usamos who, what, where etc. Y además,
seguimos las reglas del tiempo verbal: si la frase es presente simple,
usamos el auxiliar do / does. 
Si es con el verbo to be, ponemos la forma de to be antes del sujeto.
Empezamos con el video, luego tenemos unos ejemplos por escrito…

Preguntas con WHO en inglés

Usamos who (quién) cuando la respuesta es una persona:
Q: Who do you live with?
A: I live with my brother.
Q: Who is that woman?
A: She’s my cousin.
Q: Who is on the phone?
A: Sylvia is on the phone.

Preguntas con WHAT en inglés

Usamos what (qué) cuando la respuesta es una cosa o actividad:
Q: What do you have in your bag?
A: I have a sandwich.
Q: What do you do in your free time?
A: I do sport.
Q: What is that? 
A: It’s a wrench.

Preguntas con WHERE en inglés

Usamos where (dónde) cuando la respuesta es un sitio:
Q: Where do you work?
A: I work in the city center.
Q: Where is Mary? 
A: She’s at the bar.
Q: Where are you going?
A: I’m going to the train station.

Preguntas con WHEN en inglés

Usamos when (cuándo) cuando la respuesta es un momento:
Q: When is the concert?
A: It’s tomorrow.
Q: When do you start work?
A: I start at 9.
Q: When do you finish work?
A: I finish at 6.

Preguntas con WHY en inglés

Usamos why (por qué) cuando la respuesta es una razón:
Q: Why are you sleepy?
A: Because I got up early this morning.
Q: Why isn’t she here? 
A: Because she’s at work.
Q: Why are they leaving?
A: Because they have to catch the bus.

Preguntas con HOW en inglés

Usamos how (cómo) cuando la respuesta es una manera de hacer algo.
Q: How do you spell “penguin?”
A: P – E – N – G – U – I – N.
Q: How do you get to work?
A: By bus.
Q: How do I turn on the computer?
A: Push this button.
