THE INTRODUCITON

cylinder

A cylinder is a circle moved through space to make a solid form. The ends are circles that are in parallelplanes, and the sides of the cylinder are the line segments that connect the circumferences of the two circles. Because the circular ends run parallel to each other, the connecting line segments have to beperpendicular to them. To find the surface area of a cylinder, imagine that you have unrolled the cylinder (like taking the label off a soup can). This unrolled cylinder is shaped like arectangle, so you can find its area by multiplying the height by the width. Here the width will be the same as the circumference of the circular ends, or 2r, so the area of the rectangle will be 2rh. Now you also need to find the area of those circular ends and add it on; 2r + 2r + 2rh. The volume of a cylinder is even easier; just figure out the area of the circle on the end and multiply it by the height of the cylinder: 2r2h. That's how much soup your soup can will hold.

THE AIM OF PROJECT

The aim of carry out this project work is:
1.

To apply and adapt a variety problem solving strategies to solve problem.

2.to improve the mathematics and thinking skills 3.To show rhe important of mathematics in our life. 4.To increase the students interest mathematics and to make them confidence while answering the mathematic question. 5.To improve the uses of mathematical language and express mathematical ideas precisely in our life.

ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS PROJECT WORK FORM 5 2011

CONCLUSION
Cylinder is a simplest shape in our daily life.We can see the shape in around us.This is because has many thing is make for cylinder shape. For example, drinking

can, bottle and other. So the cylinder shape is a very important in our life. Besides that, this project work need use a lot of mathematical concept in order to get answer. This make me understand more about mathematical concept. After doing this project work,I quite impressed with the usage of cylinder and its way to helps us in solving problem although there are same errors occur. Then i also learnt so much that were never find in any book.I am doing my researches to understand its usage and its principles when apply to solve the problem involving cylinder. Moreover,I am able to interpret carefully when handling such mind twisting problem that is in this project. This experience that I get from doing this job make me apply to other subject so that it will make me more careful when handling such question mentioned.I really appreciating the government as they gave us this opportunity to do this project in process of understanding anda learning deeply of cylinder.I would like to thank my additional mathematics teachers,Puan Lim Siew Phang as without her help,I would able to complete this project

REFLECTION

I used to hate Additional Mathematics It always makes me wonder why this subject is so difficult I always tried to love every part of it It always an absolute obstacle for me

BUT

After spending countless hours, days and night to finish this Additional

Mathematics Project, here is what I got to say:

I LOVE ADDITIONAL MATHEMATICS SO MUCH
