Dad quit racing after 1953 or perhaps 1954 when he flipped a car three or four times. Dad received a fractured skull and it messed with his hearing, which was an even greater loss than his racing career, because he played piano by ear. He might not have been a piano virtuoso, however I could sit for hours and listen to him play piano pieces I have an appreciation for to this day.
