Through this topic, every Muslim will recognize and understand clearly about the significance of the responsibilities which revealed by Allah to us that we have to perform them in our daily life. Therefore, everyone is obliges to preserve his faith according to Islamic fundamental teaching in order to ensure that he is on the right path as practiced by our prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Objectives of the Chapter · To comprehend the meaning of Islam and its fundamentals. · To explore the beauties of Islam by understanding its characteristics. · To comprehend the meaning of Ibadah and its function in our daily life The Meaning of Religion The word religion is widely used when referring to the faith or the belief of someone. The term religion expresses the eternal questions of life, death and next world. As to the factor that forms religion feeling, the natural anxiety in man, forces man to think deeply in the vast creation of the world and the universe and thus lead him to make an attempt to link himself with the external world. As humanity grows to be in the world of social contacts and in the land of new culture, man find himself trying to create means and ways to establish the interaction on the basis of his belief and thus religion not only play the part of answering man's eternal question but it also plays the part of controlling the social aspect of laws and orders in the life of society. All the statement above has sent us the message of religious thought and belief that we see in the past and in the present situation in the life of humanity and it will remain that way forever as man continues his exiting journey to explore the true meaning of religions. Religion then develop not only in the mind of the individual but it has also turn itself to be the determining factor that shapes the rise of civilization, nations and countries. The significant role that religion had played resulted many wars and destruction in the name of religion to finally find itself to be the key factor in our daily life. Briefly, Religion is

They deal either merely the spiritual aspect of life or they concern themselves only with the worldly needs. The Definition of al-Deen Al-Deen is widely used to describe a way of life to which someone is submitted to. 6) Revealed religion are missionary religions according to their teaching or their historical traditions. Differences Between Revealed and Non-revealed Religion. 4) All revealed religion were born in the Middle East . Revealed religion requires the followers to believe in God. Non-revealed religions are not missionary. 7) The teaching of revealed religions are clear and well defined. 1) Revealed religion are based on the concept of the Unity of God while the nonrevealed religion are not necessarily so. It is not correct the word al-Deen as religion or faith. Christianity and Islam. This is because al-Deen is more than just a religion as it crosses the boundaries of religious rituals and rights to make itself a system that governs the whole aspect of mankind. Revealed religion comprise Judaism. The teaching of nonrevealed religion are vague and very elastic. non-revealed do not. The embrace the worldly and as well as other worldly or the so called the spiritual aspect of life. Non-revealed religions on the contrary were born outside the Semitic area and could not penetrate into that area. 2) Revealed religions believes in the prophets. 5) Revealed religion have appeared in regions which have historically under the influence of the Semitic race. The word al-Deen is derived from Arabic word ( daa na ) which its literal meaning is to make loan from someone. Religions can be classified in it's source where that is why the students of religious study would have to understand that religion is divided the revealed and non-revealed. 8) The teachings of revealed religion have an all embracing tenor. The non-revealed religion are those whose teachings do not regard man's submission to a well defined code of Divine guidance as essential. Technically it means belief in the Omnipresence and Omnipotence of God and perform practices based on this belief. 3) According to revealed religions. the rest of religions are non-revealed. The whole understanding of these two meanings can be concluded as being in a state of submission as a result of the need to require something from someone who is far more superior.

They are known as the five pillars of Islam.Islam) which means harmony. The Meaning of Islam The word Islam itself is given by Allah as He says in Quran : "This day have I perfected your religion for you. death. As far as the beginning of Islam is concern. and have chosen for you Islam as your religion". By following al-Deen. our life is secured and taken care of in the world and the Hereafter. Allah. syahadat is not merely based on verbal saying to be accepted as a Muslim and Mu'min but he must witness and admit (belief) the existence of Allah and His Prophet. Not only that particular submission (general and specific. it also can abrogate our Syahadat. In other words. acts of worship. Well. Matters That Abrogate Syahadat 1) Rely and depend on other than Allah (ask for help) . The word syahadat is derived from Arabic word { sya-hi-da } which in its literal meaning believe in oneself based on his witness. It is the fundamental of Islam. There are several types of submission an d execution that Muslim do just for Allah. 2) Does not admit that all bounties either material things or internal satisfaction are come from Allah .5) Haji ( pilgrimage to Makkah ) Syahadat Syahadat is the main believe which makes us as a Muslim. The aspects which have been fixed are : a) Basic principles of Islam b) Objectives and purposes c) Religion values and morality The meaning of al-Murunah . c) MORALITY .far from dangers e) Evidences of strength .Moderation It is derived from Arabic word . Advantages of moderation a) Justice . b) Straight path .good relation with mankind d) Peace .mankind are required to perform their duties in particular times which is already fixed by God. And for al-Murunah also is derived from Arabic word ( ma ra na ) which means flexible and gentle. nor did Islam call it's followers to sink in the flood of the worldly attainment. The aspects which are changeable: a) Matters which are related to branches of religion.

Ibadah is an Arabic word derived from the root word ( 'a ba da ) which strictly means to submit oneself to the pleasant of someone else willingly. Reality means life as well as its nature is truth and real. Once man accepted of the deity of One God. Man cannot create the means to submit to the Creator. man must accept the way Allah has chosen to him because He knows the best form how to submit to Him. and the ultimate humility to God along with the ultimate love for him The word Ibadah is found in the imperative mode in al-Quran. Islam has given us the formal and specific way to do it and Islam also has given us the informal and the general way to do it. it is verb that make mankind submit to the Supremacy of God. he will then seek the means and ways to ask forgiveness and will be guided to the path of Allah. Islam not only manage the spiritual life but Islam also manage the worldly life of man. clear and reality. Islam being more than just a religion has manage to level down the idealism of its faith to the realities of its followers. The interaction between man in their family. Being ideal and real requires the faith to practicalize the idealism base on the realities of the surrounding. the ultimate submission. All forms of religion are ideal because faith represents the ideal understanding of something beyond the captivity of the mind but sometimes idealism that religion posses.
