ApoyaralasOficinasdelIICAdelospasesdelaReginCaribeenla ejecucindeaquellasaccionescontempladasenlasestrategiasIICA pas que tengan que ver con las Lneas de accin del Programa de Innovacin. Apoyar y dar seguimiento al componente de innovacin de la EstrategiaRegionaldelIICAenelCaribe. Actuarcomocoordinadordeinteraccionesyrelacionamientostcnicos entreIICAyCARDIenlaReginCaribe. Apoyar la identificacin y desarrollo de proyectos para promover la innovacin incluyendo la gestin de recursos financieros para su ejecucinenlareginCaribe. ParticiparactivamenteenlaRedTemticaInstitucionaldeInnovacin Tecnolgica. Descriptionofduties: Under the supervision of the Manager of IICAs Innovation for Productivity and Competitiveness Program, the international specialist in technological innovation based in the Caribbean will have, among others,thefollowingduties: a) Promote the development of institutional partnerships, joint programs, and networks among the key stakeholders in the nationaltechnologicalinnovationsystemsintheregionaswellas networksandalliancesamongIICAMemberCountries. Fosterandstrengthenrelationsandallianceswiththerestofthe Americas en the areas of innovation, research, and technology transferandextension. To serve as IICA specialist under the IICA Innovation for Productivity and Competitiveness Program, participating actively intheProgramsprojectsandlinesofaction. Support IICA offices in the Caribbean countries to carry out the actionsincludedintheIICAcountrystrategythatarerelatedto theInnovationProgramsLinesofAction. Support and monitor the innovation component of the IICA CaribbeanRegionalStrategy. ActasCoordinator ofthe technicalrelationshipsandinteractions betweenIICAandCARDIintheCaribbeanRegion. Support the identification and development of projects to promote innovation, including fundraising for their implementationintheCaribbeanRegion. Participate actively in the institutional Thematic Network for TechnologicalInnovation.

RequisitosyCompetencias: Educacin: El candidato deber poseer un ttulo universitario preferiblemente con nivel de doctorado en ciencias agrcolas o afines. Se darconsideracinacandidatosqueposeenunttulouniversitarioanivel demaestradeunauniversidadreconocidayquecuentanconunaamplia experienciainternacional.

QualificationsandCompetencies: Education: The candidate must hold a graduate degree, preferably PhD, in agricultural science or related field. Candidates who hold a Masters Degree from a wellknown university and have broad internationalexperiencewillbeconsideredfortheposition.

ExperienciaLaboral:Seesperaqueelcandidatocuenteconunmnimo de10aosdeexperienciaprofesionalnacionaleinternacionalcomprobada en innovacin tecnolgica en regiones tropicales, preferiblemente en el trpico americano, para asegurar un amplio conocimiento de la Regin y su agricultura. Experiencia comprobada en facilitar redes tcnicas y gestindelconocimiento.Amplia experienciaengestindeproyectosy/o programas de innovacin. Es preferible que el candidato cuente con experiencia/familiaridad en identificacin y negociacin de alianzas estratgicasentreredesconinstitucionesdeinnovacin,investigaciny/o extensin. La experiencia en sistemas de agricultura protegida, agroecolgicayfamiliarserreconocida. Idiomas: Dominio completo del idioma ingls y del espaol es indispensableparaelpuesto.Elconocimientodefrancsyportugusser valorado. Aptitudes: Comunicacin: Aptitudes fuertes para la comunicacin oral y escritaencienciay/odocumentacintcnica,queincluyelaelaboracinde propuestas de proyectos cientficos y tcnicos. El candidato deber tener aptitudes fuertes interpersonales y contar con experiencia en la elaboracindepresentacionesformales.

Work experience: The candidate must have at least 10 years of proven national and international professional experience in technologicalinnovationintropicalregions,preferablyintheAmerican tropics, to ensure thorough knowledge of the Region and its agriculture. Proven experience in the creation, promotion and facilitation of technical networks and knowledge management. Broad experience in development and management of innovation projects and/or programs. Preferably, the candidate should have experience and/or be familiar with the identification and negotiation of strategic partnerships between networks and innovation, research and/or extension institutions. Experience in protected, agroecological and familyagriculturesystemswillberecognized. Languages: Full proficiency in English and Spanish is an essential requisitefortheposition.KnowledgeofFrenchandPortuguesewillbe valued. Skills: Communication: Strong oral and written communication skills inscienceand/ortechnicaldocumentation,includingthepreparationof proposals for scientific and technical projects. The candidate must have strong interpersonal skills and experience in preparing and deliveringformalpresentations.
