Professional Experience
ALLIANCE FOR COMMUNITY CARE (Now known as MOMENTIUM) 1988 to 2008
Alliance is a private, non-profit, public benefit corporation which provides men
tal health treatment and social rehabilitation services to over 2,000 clients ne
eding services annually.
* 1988 to1992: Successfully managed a 16 bed Transitional Treatment Center for
four years with a low recidivism rate. Responsible for all the hiring and reten
tion of staff. Wrote all annual performance evaluations for all clinical and ad
ministrative staff.
* 1992 to 2007: Managed two 15-bed Crisis Residential Treatment Centers. Provide
d direct clinical services to an acute population; operated a short term, high v
olume program (with a combined operating budget of $1,800,000. Responsible for
all hiring, progressive discipline, trainings, supervision and evaluation of pro
fessional and paraprofessional staff. Staff retention was 7-10 years.
* 1992 to 2008: Developed staffing schedules for two Crisis Programs and an on
-call system for all 5-residential programs (utilizing 25 Clinical staff) that o
perated on a 24/7 schedule. Developed and implemented"Medication Certification"
training for all clinical staff in an agency of 500 employees'.
* Across a variety of settings, provided extensive training on: Team Building,
Communication skills, Crisis Intervention, Dual Diagnosis, Personality Disorder,
in-depth knowledge of psychiatric medications.
* Served on the County's mobile crisis team for one year. This was a 24 hours
/ on-call system. Served on the County's dual Diagnosis Task Force for three ye
ars.
* 2000 to 2002: Selected as the Chairperson for a committee commissioned by th
e CEO to identify issues that delt directly with how "How Senior Management and
Middle Management Communicate". Resulted in a productive outcome, re-shaping ho
w the CEO and Senior Management conducted agency business.
* 2002 to 2005: Selected by the CEO and the Chairman of the Board, to be the C
hairperson of a sub-committee. The intent was to create money streams that were
not connected to government contracts. Within one year, the agency demonstrate
d significant revenue increases.
* Remained with Alliance for 19.5 years. In that time, the Clinical Director r
equested I take over supervision and to trouble shoot various clinical programs
that needed stronger leadership. Each of the five times this occurred, there wa
s an increase in staff morale, while increasing the daily / monthly census. Rec
idivism rate also decrease.

THE CHILDREN'S SHELTER - Santa Clara County 1999 to 2007


* 1997 to 2007: Children's Counselor
* Hired as extra help staff, working in all six youth cottages. Total of 150
at risk adolescents youths each cottage was full beyond capacity. Heavy drug u
se while on AWOL status. Many were gang related. Our role was to keep them saf
e and demonstrate positive role modeling. Promoted to Senior Counselor.
* 2001 to 2003: Senior Children's Counselor
* Able to develop and maintain quick rapport with, aggressive, acting
out "at risk / gang affiliated" teens.
* Successfully provided better coping and decision making tools with both
male and female at risk teens.
* Simultaneously worked full time at as the Children's Shelter, as well as,
the Director of the psychiatric crisis treatment center. Total of 80 hours
per week for approximately 2-years.

6 to 1988
* Provided short term crisis intervention / resolution and long term
rehabilitation for physically and sexually abused adolescents and an
emancipation program for the same population.
* Managed all personnel activities of a 10 member staff; including staffing dy
namics, recruitment, training, performance evaluations and compensation.
DEVEREUX FOUNDATION 1979 t
o 1984
* The Devereux Foundation is a nationwide residential treatment center
working with a diversity of emotionally / developmentally / psychiatrically
disabled adolescents (capacity of 180 patients).
* Was promoted from a Counselor, to Senior Counselor to Residential
Supervisor, remaining in the same cottage of 32 males for all five years.
* Developed and implemented three separate behavior modification
programs within the same building.
