Worked in the Import Department for almost 4years, handling specific customers
on all their shipments by ocean and air. This included arrival notice, billing,
releases when applicable and collection of all charges due. Maintained customi
zed reports for selected customers with all tracking and tracing information on
Excel spread sheet, that are uploaded to our company website for easy viewing by
customer, as well as overseas shipper. All shipments were carefully monitored
to ensure proper and timely receipt of their goods. No customer ever had to pay
any unnecessary demurrage or storage fees under my personal management. I have
excellent communication skills with my customers, carriers, truckers, warehouse
s, as well as our overseas partners, which have all helped to ensure my success
on customer shipments.

At MSC I handled heavy customer service duties, releases to the terminal, divers
ion requests and pick-up numbers. I was responsible for arriving I.T.'s once a c
ontainer(s) arrived at the ramp. During the carrier shutdown I assisted with ove
r 1000 diversions that were requested by numerous customers, as well as coordina
ting and confirming the containers involved were moved as requested. During my
tenure I was the trainer for all new personnel on the various job duties in the
ocean import department. My final position was as an Import Supervisor for the
ocean import / west coast supervisor.

During my years I was responsible for handling numerous job duties beginning wit
h working as assistant to the President. Later I moved to the operations departm
ent in ocean import handling LCL and FCL shipments, and later became the Team Le
ader.

This is the first company where I started in the shipping industry. I started
out in the ocean import department working on LCL & FCL shipments as well as air
imports. After a short time when my co-worker went on maternity leave I was al
so involved in ocean export and air import shipments. The Trifair Int'l unit was
a small operations department with only two people, and the main focus was on c
ustoms entry where about three people worked. This company is where I learned h
ands on all about this new industry.
