Life is Richer with CARNATION TM.

Cook with CARNATION®. The Cooking Milk™.
And make ordinary recipes extraordinary.

First things first: What is evaporated milk?

It’s fresh milk, with half the water removed through gentle heating.
As a result of this water evaporation, the milk is richer and creamier.

It makes things rich, creamy and oh-so dreamy.

CARNATION ® Evaporated Milk can enhance your recipes with added moistness, creaminess,
smoothness, thickness and added depth of flavor. There’s no sugar added, so it
can be used in savory and sweet recipes as well as in hot or cold beverages.

AND there are nutritional benefits.

Due to the evaporation process, the amount of protein and calcium is increased per serving.

Want to know how?

Sauces become saucier. Soups become heartier. Baked goods stay good longer.

The holidays are upon us, which means it’s time to start thinking about decorations, fabulous party

my family, I’m “the hostess with the mostest.”

some tricks up my sleeve to make things easier. For instance, I always keep my pantry stocked with
CARNATION ® Evaporated Milk. It really comes in handy for all sorts of dessert, beverage, side dish,
soup and casserole recipes—just about anything that uses milk. I’ve found that it makes food
creamier and more flavorful. And the richness it brings to the table can only be paralleled by the
richness that each of my unique family members brings to my table!

Jill’s Tips for
Surviving
the Holiday Houseful
Hosting the family during the holidays? The following tips should help take the edge off potentially stressful
issues so you can focus on what really matters: love, togetherness and the spirit of the season.

1. Lighten the cooking load.

When hosting a big meal, ask your guests to bring a side dish or dessert.
That way, you can focus on the main course, and they’ll have a chance to shine!
2. Make leftover magic : don’t let any food go to waste.
Use leftovers in new recipes or save them all up for a special leftover buffet at the end of the week.
3. Don’t stress : make gift giving a unique occasion.
Not all great gifts are found at the mall. Enlarge a priceless photograph and put it in a nice frame. Or, offer up baby-sitting
services bundled with movie or theater tickets. Unique ideas from the heart can save you money and be more meaningful.
4. Picky eaters? Have your healthy eating and great taste, too.
When you have a recipe that calls for milk, use CARNATION ® Evaporated Milk, which provides a richer taste,
creamier texture and nutritional benefits. It comes in Lowfat 2% and Fat Free varieties, too.
5. Party hearty, but keep your calorie intake in check.
Before going to the party, eat a healthy snack. This will keep you from
over indulging on those tempting finger foods and desserts.
6. Don’t be gone for long: map out your grocery store strategy.
Save time by organizing your shopping list by department and have your coupons ready before you get in line.
You’ll be in and out before you know it!
7. Save a bunch: come together over brunch.
Whether gathering at a restaurant or at home, brunch items are less expensive. And because you’re meeting
at an earlier time, you can linger longer without worrying about getting the kids to bed on time.
8. Movie night in is cheaper than movie night out.
Create a movie theater setting and check out a DVD from the library that the whole family will enjoy.
Don’t forget to pop a whole bunch of popcorn!
9. Entertaining the guests: start new family traditions.
From taking a walk through the neighborhood to see the holiday lights, to baking cookies together, there are
many things you can do as a family, which you can repeat every year. These are things that will be remembered always.
10. Keep the kids busy: Make holiday cards together.
They’ll enjoy cutting, gluing and decorating special cards for every member of the family.
Family and friends will love receiving these personalized greetings.
