As a professional with 25 years of experience in the financial services industry

with a strong back ground in finance, operations, project management and leader
ship, I am writing to express my strong desire to fill a position with leadershi
p responsibilities or an independent role that includes financial analytics. I
have a broad spectrum of transferable skills that I can apply to fill many respo
nsibilities.
The majority of my professional career was spent at The Principal Financial Grou
p. I surprised myself when I left after 21 fulfilling years, which included a n
atural progression through various positions and leadership with increasing resp
onsibilities but I couldn't resist the temptation to pursue a new challenge with
Robert Half. As an Account Executive in their Management Resources division I
was able to interact with C-level executives daily and discuss their challenges,
opportunities and offer guidance. When a friend asked me to help him sell his
company and become an equity owner in a buy/sell venture strategy in 2008, I mad
e the move to Custom Printing and Mailing. The economy over the past two years
has changed our minds.
While I enjoy the small business experience, I would like to return to larger co
mpany. I am described as a people person, enjoy variety and being challenged.
A few of my strenghts are highlighted below.
* Identifying key operational and financial matrices then building and implement
ing a reporting and management structure to make critical business decisions.
* Managing within a matrix management structure where cooperation and team work
is essential.
* Communicating to senior management, steering committees and project teams.
* Developing and then managing budgets up to $150M in annual expenditures.
* Knowledge of complex business structures, multiple lines of business, investme
nt programs and expense allocation methodologies and structures.
* Building financial models incorporating fee schedules, capital constraints, st
affing, business growth and economic assumptions with direct links to financial
statements.
* Promoting and collaborating change while leading a functional work group or he
ading project teams.
* Natural eye towards operational improvements and redesigning work processes.
* Identifying and nurturing strategic partnerships and alliances.
* Strategic and tactical leader who is self-motivated and accountable.
I bring a practical business aptitude and a professional interpersonal style tha
t fits in well. I have been a high achiever in all of my previous positions and
I would like to bring my enthusiasm and ability to your company.
I am excited and welcome the opportunity to speak with you further regarding thi
s position or any others. I am enclosing my resume for your review. Please do
not hesitate to contact me at (515) 979-4353 or via email at bc69e418@westpost.n
et to arrange a meeting. Thank you for your time and I look forward to talking
with you.
Sincerely,
Brian Carroll, CIA, CISA, FMLA
