Computer Sciences Corporation, (Project at Federal Communications Commission) -
OFACS
OFACS (Office of Engineering and Technology (OET) Frequency Assignment Coordinat
ion System) was developed to support the Federal Communications Commission (FCC)
in fulfilling its responsibilities with respect to the National Telecommunicati
ons and Information Administration (NTIA) frequency assignment coordination proc
ess. It provides internal automation support to the OET Spectrum Coordination Br
anch (SCB) and also provides Web Services interfaces with FCC Licensing Bureau s
ystems and NTIA coordination systems. OFACS is a Web-enabled application that su
pports the SCB frequency coordination process by providing the following capabil
ities.
• It acts as a staging house for the submission, storage, update, and exchange of in
formation with the NTIA and FAA. • It includes record query/call up and reporting fe
atures, and enables tracking of frequency assignment coordination requests. • It inc
ludes the capability to process Frequency Assignment Subcommittee (FAS) records
and related information processing capabilities including record management, pro
cessing and update functionalities. • The project environment is SYBASE as backend,
Weblogic server 9.1 as Application Server, Java 1.5, Struts, Spring, Servlet, IB
ATIS, Acegi-Spring, JBoss Drools, Web Service, Java Script, Sub Version Manager.

the application.
* Investigate production issues, analyze the problem through logs, code-review a
nd database queries, identify the problem and engage the correct parties to fix
the problem.

tomer self-service applications. SpeechPort enables organizations to minimize th
e operating and capital costs of phone-based self-service applications, while ma
intaining tight control over mission-critical data and systems. SpeechPort suppo
rts rapid application development with speech recognition, text-to-speech, and e
xtensive back-end integration capabilities.My primary job was Configuration Mana
ger and Application Support for SpeechPort application where customer impact was
real-time and solutions needed to be provided with quick turnaround.
• The project environment was ORACLE as backend, Weblogic server 7.1 as Application
Server, Java 1.4, Servlet, Web Service, EJBs, ClearCase
* First point of contact for production issues. Investigate production issues, a
nalyze the problem through logs, code-review and database queries, identify the

* Coordinate the solutions/fixes between network engineering, developers and sys
tem test for production failures. Engage the three groups to come up with the p
roper tools to reproduce the problem so as to find a permanent fix, including te

lation in production.
* Manage source code, write installation and release documents and create releas
es using Ant and Visual SourceSafe and Rational ClearCase, serving as the Build
Manager in J2EE environment.
