VIE is designed to specifically handle and support the credit assessment of multiple types of loans – from
consumer loans (personal loans, microfinance loans, auto loans, housing loans and credit card) to
corporate loans. The strength of this system lies in Vinta’s two (2) sophisticated engines: Vsoft Intelligent
Agent – which provides the platform for automating decision-making within the enterprise, and Vinta’s
Intelligent Process / Workflow System – which provides the platform for automating business processes.
How is that?
VIE will also be able to adopt the extensive knowledge and expertise of the bank’s best credit
practitioners. With this technology, credit officers can create as many rules that they can think of,
based on their knowledge and past experiences, and they can also infer comprehensible rule sets,
based from the bank’s internal credit policies and guidelines and historical data.
Through the combined power of various artificial intelligence algorithms, VIE will be able to tell you
whether you should approve or reject an application, and will even support this decision with an
appropriate credit score or rating. In case an application gets rejected, VIE can provide the loan officer
with the reasons why such application is denied and will even allow them to conduct what-if analyses
to search for other ways to have the said application approved.
All the credit models generated by the system can be retrained at any time to adapt to changing
customer risk patterns and amendments in the bank’s internal credit policies and guidelines. VIE is so
flexible, it enables the loan officers to modify their credit and business rules even without the help of
their programmers.
VIE is also capable of generating a behavioral score based on its analysis of behavior of the bank’s
clients. Based on the payment history, demographics and spending habits of the borrowers, VIE will
be able to predict their future performance, learn and understand their different risk profiles, and
identify high, medium and low risk accounts.
First, if the bank would like to optimize their credit line management, it will already be easier for them
to review the risks from extending credit lines to existing customers. Their Credit Review Committee
will just look at the risk profile of the borrowers and the bank will know in an instant, whether
expanding their credit limit, will be beneficial to the bank.
Second, the marketing and account management staff will be able to discover new market niches,
hence come out with more effective targeted marketing campaigns. Considering patterns of consumer
behavior, they will be able to know which products and services will click in the market, at minimum
risk by market niche.
And third, VIE is an effective tool to determine the best collection strategy to use. Knowing the high
and low risk accounts, VIE can help the Accounting and Collection Department of the bank to focus on
the customers who are least likely to pay, and spend less time on low-risk clients. They will also be
able to know when they will need to send a soft collection letter, do a reminder call, involve the legal
department, or when to do nothing at all, as they know that the client will pay anyway.
VIE’s credit and behavioral scoring capability definitely allows banks to reduce credit costs, increase
revenues and lower delinquency rates.
