SIWES 2005-2006

URGENT NOTICE
INSTRUCTIONS ON THE SIWES PROJECT
1. All CSC391 students are expected to write a report on the individual project undertaken during the SIWES programmes as directed by the head of
department.
2. The project must be relevant to the work environment of your SIWES
3. The report should be 10-20 pages.
4. You are to submit a soft copy of your implementation on a CD-ROM along with the report.
5. You are to submit two spiral bound copies of the report to Mrs. Ayodeji in the department office on or before October 2nd, 2007.
GUIDELINES FOR SIWES PROJECT REPORT WRITING
You are advised to prepare your report using the format below:
Title Page
Containing the Title of the mini-project, your name, matriculation number, place of industrial attachment and Name of your departmental supervisor.
Summary
A brief summary of the problem solved, methodology adopted and results achieved in not more than 250 words.
System description
A detailed description of the problem domain identified and solved.
System Analysis
A formal analysis of the system developed using appropriate tools e.g UML
System design
Give a detailed description of the design of your new system. This may include a format description using UML, file design, input design, etc.
System implementation
Description of how the system developed was implemented.
Conclusion
Conclude the report by highlighting experience gained from the project, problem area untouched and further improvement that can be made.

GUIDELINES FOR SIWES REPORT


SECTION 1
INTRODUCTION: Overview of understanding of aims & obj of siwes & how you have been satisfied at your workplace

SECTION 2
DESCRIPTION OF SIWES OFFICE: Detailed description to include company name, address, location, history of organization, organizational structure,
services provided.

SECTION 3
ACTIVITIES AT SIWES WORKPLACE: description of main activities of each dept you visited and activities u participated in these depts..

SECTION 4
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE ACQUIRED: detailed description of all skills acquired. Report & evaluate d contribution of your supervisor to the overall
benefits derived from the programme.

SECTION 5
PROBLEMS ENCOUNTERED: Highlight problems encountered during the siwes programme

SECTION 6
RECOMMENDATIONS: make suggestion on how the siwes programme should be improved upon.

SECTION 7
CONCLUSION: conclude the report by highlighting benefits derived from siwes programme.
NB: the siwes project report is different from siwes report. Siwes project report is csc project writing codes i.e. making a software application while
siwes report is normal siwes stuff.
To be submitted tues oct 2nd 2007 with your log books(duly signed), all the necessary siwes forms (form b and 8) as in end of programme forms.
I guess the number of pages for siwes report would be the same as for the project.
