TEMA: PRESENT, FUTURE AND PAST CONTINUOUS

OBJETIVO DEL APRENDIZAJE:
 Reconocer la estructura gramática del pasado continuo.

PRESENTE CONTINUO/ PRESENT CONTINUOUS

 ¿Para qué se usa? Para describir acciones que están ocurriendo en este momento, es decir, en el
momento en el que se está hablando.
 ¿Cómo se forma? Con el verbo to be en presente simple (am, is, are) más el verbo principal en
gerundio (terminado en –ing).

Afirmativa: Sujeto + am | is | are + verbo acabado en –ing

EJEMPLOS: Yo estoy haciendo la tarea I am doing the homework

Tú estás dibujando un perro You are drawing the dog

Ella está durmiendo en la cama She is sleeping in the bed

Ellos están corriendo en la carrera They are running in the race

Nosotros estamos escribiendo una carta We are writing a letter

Negativa : Sujeto + am not | isn't | aren't + verbo acabado en –ing

 Solo debes agregar el not después del verbo to be.

EJEMPLOS: Tú no estás cantando una canción You are not singing a song

Yo no estoy manejando un carro I am not driving a car

Ella no está bebiendo leche She is not drinking milk

Nosotros no estamos leyendo un libro We are not reading a book

Interrogativa: Am | is | are + sujeto + verbo acabado en -ing

 Para hacer preguntas, lo único que tienes que hacer es invertir el orden del sujeto y del verbo to be.

EJEMPLOS: ¿Esta él comiendo pizza? Is he eating pizza?

 ¿Esta ella estudiando para el examen? Is she studying for the exam?

¿Estás tú durmiendo? Are you sleeping?

¿Estamos nosotros jugando basketball? Are we playing basketball?

Observa la estructura para formar el PRESENT CONTINUOUS y como agregar la terminación ING, teniendo
en cuenta si el verbo termina en vocal o consonante.

EJERCICIO 1. Transcribe los verbos que aparecen en los recuadros anteriores con su respectiva terminación
con ING.

PASADO CONTINUO/ PAST CONTINUOUS

 El pasado continuo se utiliza para acciones que estaban pasando en un momento específico en el
pasado. Para formar el pasado continuo se utiliza el verbo auxiliar “to be” y el verbo + ing.
 El verbo auxiliar “to be” está en el pasado simple, pero ten en cuenta que “to be” es un verbo
irregular.
 Observa cómo se agrega ING, de acuerdo a la terminación del verbo.

EJEMPLOS:
  Como se conforma el pasado continuo en sus formas afirmativa, negativa e interrogativa.Es
necesario usar

pronombre + la forma del pasado de to be WAS-WERE + el verbo con su terminación ING.

FUTURE CONTINUOUS
El Future Continuous es un tiempo verbal que indica que algo ocurrirá en el futuro
y continuará durante un período de tiempo esperado.
RECUERDA: En forma negativa se puede usar WILL NOT o WON’T.

Ejercicio 1.
 FORMA POSITIVA. Escriba 5 oraciones en futuro CONTINUO con WILL
+BE+ VERBO CON ING.
