A Dog’s Life

By Elton Camp

If you want to have a controlled life

Then dare take on a domineering wife
She will tell you every move to make
And point out each and every mistake

We’ve all seen such a miserable wretch

Who tells him to sit, speak, heel, fetch
He who would not be a hen-pecked fool
Will show from the start he means to rule

For those who, to enjoy comedy, are too dense

And to my wedding poems take any offense
Please don’t let the fact escape your detection
That I’ve lashed out equally in every direction
