FELLOWS (Byelaw-11) To be retained by the Candidate
11. A candidate for election as a Fellow or for transfer to the class of Fellow shall satisfy the Council that he possesses the following

qualifications:

(a) Age: He shall have attained the age of thirty five years on the date of his application for electron or transfer.
(b) Academic Qualification: AMIETE/BE/B Tech/B.Sc, (Engg.) in Electrical Engg.. Electrical Commn Engg; Instrumentalion Engg;
Information Technology: Computer Science: Bio-electronics
ME/M Tech/MS. (Computer Science). MCA/MSc (Computer Science). AlCCS. DOEACC 'C' Level. DOEACC 'B' Level

OR
shall have passed a post-graduate examination of a recognised university, and/or Institution or equivalent in any of the disciplines
as in Bye-Law 1 (f)
(c) Occupation: He shall be engaged in the discipline in a position of high responsibility, provided that a temporary unemployment
shall not be deemed a disqualification; or shall have retired from the profession after having held, before his application for
election or transfer, a position of high responsibility..
(d) Experience: He shall have had at least ten years experience in the discipline during which he, either shall have held a position
of higher responsibility in an organisation for a period of five years, or shall have made outstanding contribution in the discipline.

12. A candidate for election as a Member or for transfer to the class of member shall satisfy the Counciltha.t the possess the fOllowing

qualifications:

(a) Academic Qualification: AMIETE/BEfB. Tech/B.Sc (Engg) in E./ectrical Engg., Electrica./ Commn Engg; Instrumentation Engg;
Information Technology; Computer Science; Bio-electronics.
ME/M. Tech/MS (Computer Science), MCA/MSc, Physics with Electronics. Computer Science. ALCCS, DOEACC 'C' Level, DOEACC

shall have passed any other examination, which in the opinion of the CouncIl, is equivalent to or warrants exemption. from the
AMIETE examination of the Institution

(b) Experience: He shall have had subsequent professional ~axperienceof at least five years during which he. either shall have
held a position of responsibility in an organisation for a period of four years in the discipline or shall have made a significant

ASSOCIATE MEMBERS (.Byelaw-13)

13. A candidate for electiorl to the class of Associate Member shall satisfy the Council that he possesses the following qualifications;
(a) Age: He shall have attained the age of twenty one years on the date of hiS application for election.
(b) Academic Qualification: He shall have passed the AMIETE examination of the Institution as per examination regulatIons prescribed
by the Council from time to time;

ASSOCiATES (Byelaw-14)
Every candidate for election 10the class of AssocIate shall be not less than 30 years of age and shall sa1isfy the Council that he has
rendered useful service to the profession of Electronics. Telecommunication Engineering, and allied subjects either in the field of
Commerce or Finance or Law or in any other area of application. Notwithstanding the above, a candidate enrolled in IETE for postgraduate
Advanced Level Course in Computer Science shall also qualify for etectionto the class of Associates
