Meeting Sciences is a start-up software development company, the consolidation of two successful
companies focused on group productivity: Q3Global a leader in meeting facilitation and Cold Mountain
Software a developer of innovative project management and enterprise knowledge management products.

• Developed alpha release of group productivity tool.


meeting-eXpert is currently used by MSI meeting facilitators. Beta release
scheduled for late 2010 with existing clients including Disney Asia, Charter
Standard Bank and The Colorado Department of Education.
• Raised nearly $1 million. Led effort during two Seed
rounds that provided funding to place product into customers’ hands by late
2010. Created plan for a Series A direct public offering for early 2011.
• Selected to Present at DEMO 2010. meeting-eXpert
was selected as a “game changing” new product by the premier technology
conference held in Silicon Valley in September 2010.

2008 – 2009

PARIS RE America began operation in January 2008 as a US based insurance company for a Swiss
parent. Today it has 5 separate business units serving customers in 37 countries throughout the
Americas from 3 US offices, revenues of $150M with a highly diversified workforce - 90% bi-lingual.

• Launched US based platform. Integrated three new


business units with existing two. Transitioned a stand-alone D.C. office into an
underwriting business unit reducing costs by $1.5M, 14% of US based
operations. Established NY office that produced $20M of new US based revenue.
Built back-office capabilities in Miami including financial reporting, legal &
compliance, HR and IT functions.
• Established new business relationships and created
marketing plan to double revenues in 3 years. Secured new business
relationship with large US, Latin American and Caribbean insurers including AIG,
Travelers, Liberty, ACE and Beacon. Created business plan to launch direct US
insurance operation. Developed strategy to secure position in newly opened
Brazilian reinsurance market.

ICAT HOLDINGS, LLC


CO-FOUNDER, PRESIDENT & COO BOULDER, CO
2000 – 2007

ICAT began operations as a Managing General Agency and evolved into a highly diversified, fee-based
and risk-bearing entity with over $175M in revenues, 160 employees and a reputation for delivering
superior customer service through a state-of-the-art web-based operating platform. ICAT was sold in
2005 to Paul G. Allen, co-founder of Microsoft.

• Promoted to President and COO in September


2001. Hired as Vice-President and CFO in April 2000. Promoted to Executive
Vice-President and COO in November 2000. Board Member since 2000.
• Spearheaded turnaround of under-performing
organization. Completely changed business model and strategy in 2004 that
grew annual revenues 23%, reduced expenses 14%, increased profits over 400%
and improved employee morale (Priceless). Accomplished by combining results
of two cross-functional teams (process improvement for underwriting operations
and market segment analysis for product lines).
• Closed company’s largest deals. Personally
negotiated and managed private and public sector contracts exceeding $100M
with organizations such as Berkshire Hathaway, Praetorian and the states of
Florida (Citizens Property Insurance Company) and Mississippi (Wind Pool
Underwriting Authority).
• Started two new business units. Developed business
plan and led negotiations in 2005 to secure the funding for the establishment of
Boulder Claims that successfully responded to the largest catastrophe in US
history (Katrina). Claims customer satisfaction rating improved to over 92%.
Developed plan and recruited staff to create an inspection business unit that
improved the timeliness of inspections by 50%.

• Led transformational change. Dramatically changed


business model and strategy, restructuring from a single source capital provider
to a highly diversified risk bearing, fee-based and third-party administrator.
• Built a high performance team. Personally recruited,
developed and led a top performing leadership team that relocated to Boulder
from around the country for an opportunity to build a start-up business.
• Developed company’s first advanced systems.
Successfully led effort to in-source policy administration system by building a
highly efficient web-based operating platform delivering superior customer
service to independent agents. This also resulted in enormous improvements in
timeliness and accuracy for all back-end processes including document issuance
(85% error rate reduced to 0.1%).
• Implemented today’s state-of-the-art system.
Enabled successful expansion and diversification of ICAT’s new product offerings
in January 2007 along with building capability to launch new products quickly.
Current platform utilizes a Java rules-based application that integrates Oracle
Financials, Documentum, Thunderhead, Guidewire and Cognos/Informatica with
internally developed applications.
• Guided process excellence and organizational
development. Led implementation of a total quality management program and
balanced scorecard. Implemented performance management and development
activities that resulted the creation of a high-quality and diverse workforce.
• Led operational launch of new risk-bearing entities.
ICAT Lloyds (non-admitted) in January 2007, and ICAT Specialty (admitted)
Hawaii homeowners and Florida commercial products in July 2006.

• Member of senior management team for leading


provider of professional liability insurance for Architects and Engineers.
Led finance, accounting and operations, including strategic planning, budgeting,
technology, market segmentation, management reporting and project
management office.
• Increased profits by 25% resulting from sale or
discontinuance of 10 of 27 market segments and implementation of
new marketing initiatives. Initiated market segmentation analysis for claims
and underwriting data and developed targeted marketing strategy for the most
profitable growth segments.
• Created business plan for new small business unit.
First year launch increased company revenues by 5% and profits of 21%
resulting in the highest margin and fastest growth opportunity for the business.
• Led restructuring of Information Technology. Hired
CIO and key personnel, selected and implemented new systems (Oracle
financials, Phoenix claims and underwriting, URS reinsurance) and internally

agency and sale of Accountant’s program.
