1 Introduction

The subjected synchronization RFP no 184/2009 (Supply Installation Testing and

Commissioning of Synchronization Distribution Unit) is being released in order to provide
optimized clock signal to Mobily SDH network.

2 Objective

The main objective is to align the time & frequency scales of all clocks in Mobily
SDH network. It’s important ever since telecommunication became enter in digital
phase. Clock is used to transmit data over the channel and if the exact same clock
is not used at receiver end, errors are born. Synchronization becomes increasingly
important when coming to NGN network using packet switched technology; Jitter
& Wander are the two main culprits that need to be controlled. Synchronization in
modern networks determines the QoS.
