SenzaNET Technology

• Built on the IEEE 802.15.4 physical

and MAC layer specification
• Flexible framework to accommodate
existing and emerging standards
• Modular design allows for plugins for
WirelessHART and 6LoWPAN
• Set of application objects shields
developers from underlying
complexity (reduced learning curve)
• SenzaStack is in essence a
“WirelessHART lite” implementation
with industrial-grade reliability
• Customers can deploy SenzaNET now,
and migrate to the latest mesh
technology via simple firmware
upgrade, as it becomes available

7 E-SENZA PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL

WirelessHART Overview and Status
• WirelessHART is a subset of HART7 Specifications & is available for
use in products developed by HART Communication Foundation (HCF)
• Released by HCF in late 2007, and subsequently ratified as IEC/PAS
62591 by the IEC
• Test specifications are somewhat lagging – manual certification of
devices possible, automated device certification expected in mid-
2009 and gateway tools by year end.
• WirelessHART is based on TSMP, a time synchronized mesh protocol
originally developed by Dust Networks
• Not surprisingly, WirelessHART has strong backing from major field
device makers, most notably Emerson Process, Siemens, ABB & others
• Many other vendors already have or are preparing launch of products
• E-Senza is committed to WirelessHART, and in the process of releasing
a stack, OEM module, network access point, and gateway
− Functional prototypes available today
− Release to manufacturing scheduled for Q3/2009

8 E-SENZA PROPRIETARY AND CONFIDENTIAL

WirelessHART Migration
• SenzaStack and WirelessHART share many key system/mesh characteristics,
thus preserving the user experience and enabling painless transitions
• From a hardware perspective (2.4 GHz operation), WirelessHART imposes no
new requirements other than higher RF output power
Attribute SN100 (SenzaStack) SNH7 (WirelessHART)
Frequency band 2,4 GHz or 868/915 MHz 2,4 GHz
