This project deals with the maintaining the quality of the application developed in a
Software Organization.

The main aim of this application is to maintain the Test Case written by the Tester to test
the application and Defect Case for the Test Case which fails for the criteria assumed or
developed by the Tester. The application maintains all the Test Case and Defect Case developed
under a specified Project, this facilitates to view the Test Case or Defect Case of the project at
any time and to get the Summary or Status of the Project concerned with bug (Issue).

This project is developed as a web application, so that it can be made online to view the
Test Case or Defect Case details from any part of the world, this will help full in the scenario, if
any of the associates or Project Manager went a official foreign trip.

The existing system of the organization is that, all the details pertaining to the list of
projects taken by the organization, the client details, allotment of projects to the associates,
observing the progress of the project and observing the quality of the project are maintained only
in registers and it is a manual one. Hence even if a particular project status has to be find out,
then there is necessity to refer the voluminous registers. Similarly to find out a particular Test
Case and Defect Case Details then we have to turn the pages in the register to find out.

The proposed system has a good user interface and its very user friendly. The appropriate
information is provided to the user to make his job easier in updating, deleting, modifying and
retrieving records. The proposed system overcomes the main drawback in existing system is
providing the user with a neat report within stimulated period of time with cent percent accuracy.
Reports play a significant role for helping the management to take decisions.

As the working process of the existing system became complicated, there is necessity to
develop a new system that can take care of things in an orderly manner. Shifting from an
Existing System to a new System is a cumbersome process and it couldn¶t be done within a short
period. Œirst a detailed summary report has to be prepared on the existing system and a through
investigation has to be done considering various factors that affect the Existing System. On
analysis of the Existing System, the specific points have to be noted done where a change is
required.

After a detailed study of the Existing System, a proposed system is planned and it has to
get the approval of the working committees of the organization. Various factors have to be
considered (work force, cost estimation, output) while transformation from the existing system to
the proposed system.
