Closing Comments:

Before I make my final comments I want to

share a few pieces of wisdom that I took
from one of Mom's notebooks that are full
of such gems. She writes:
"To keep your marriage cup brimming with
love, whenever you are wrong admit it,
whenever you are right shut up."
On July 8, 1989 she wrote:
"We need hope and love to endure this life.
Thanks be to our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ for His example, for His gospel, and
His blessed atonement. Now as then good
Samaritan, "Go and do thou likewise."
And finally she writes this little poem:
I tried to find myself
Myself I could not see
I tried to find my God
my God eluded me
I tried to find my brother
and found all three.

And so did Mom live her life, by finding

her brother and sister and son and daughter
and serving them, she found her God.
Mark Chapter 16 begins with these eight
verses:
1And when the sabbath was past, Mary
Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James,
and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that
they might come and anoint him.
2And very early in the morning the afirst
day of the week, they came unto the
sepulchre at the brising of the sun.
3And they said among themselves, Who
shall roll us away the stone from the door of
the sepulchre?
4aAnd when they looked, they saw that the
stone was rolled away: for it was very great.
5And entering into the sepulchre, they saw
a young man sitting on the right side,
aclothed in a long white garment; and they

were baffrighted.
6And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted:
Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was
crucified: he is arisen; he is not here: behold
the place where they laid him.
7But go your way, tell his disciples and
Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee:
there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.
8And they went out quickly, and fled from
the sepulchre; for they trembled and were
amazed: neither said they any thing to any
man; for they were afraid.
The empty Tomb is proof that we will be
reunited with our dear Mother again if we
live worthy of that homecoming.

In the April 2010 Conference President

Thomas S. Monson said in a talk titled "He
Is Risen!"
"We know, for we have the light of revealed
truth. “For since by man came death, by
man came also the resurrection of the dead.
“For as in Adam all die, even so in Christ
shall all be made alive.” I have read—and I
believe—the testimonies of those who
experienced the grief of Christ’s Crucifixion
and the joy of His Resurrection."
My son Alex on his mission in Orlando,
Florida wrote a beautiful email about his
Grandma, and in the interest of time I quote
the final few paragraphs. I will gladly make
the email available to all who wish to read it
in its entirety. He writes:
"Soon after Grandpa Fullmer died Grandma
Fullmer had fallen quite ill with all manner
of problems. Her suffering of Arthritis
greatly increased. Her health started to
diminish. We were no longer able to take
care of her. She had to leave the home that
she loved so much and she had to live in a
center that was foreign and desolate of love.
Though she had people that loved her there
and family that visited, the love that she
enjoyed with her eternal companion had
been lost. It is no wonder that she had
fallen in such a depressed condition. No
matter how much the pain or suffering, she
endured it well.
As I thought of the condition that Grandma
Fullmer was in I rejoiced in the fact that she
would no longer be in such pain. I rejoiced
in the fact that she would be reunited with
her beloved eternal companion never to be
separated again. I thought of all those that
had gone before her waiting for her on the
other side. I thought of the joy that she
must have felt. She received the Christmas
present that she had most wished for three
years. The Lord had called her home.
I started to think about the Savior and
about all that he had done for us. I thought
of the suffering that he had gone through in
the Garden of Gethsemane. So great was
the weight of all burdens and sins that He
bled from every pore. He conquered sin
and paid the price with His precious blood
for those that he loved deeply and infinitely.
He suffered on the cross feeling the same
amount of pain that Hed had in the Garden.
He had been in such a state that he cried out
"Father why hast thou forsaken me?" He
was left all alone to suffer these things. But
on the third day He triumphantly overcame
the grave. He had been resurrected. He had
conquered sin and death. How great is my
joy in the fact that our Savior gave us this
gift, the precious gift of the Atonement and
Resurrection. It is because of such acts of
love that He lives and that we will all be
able to live. It is for this reason that I am
sure Grandma Fullmer is rejoicing. How
great and merciful is the plan of our Father
in Heaven. When we cast off this frail
mortal body, we will all be able to be
reunited with Grandma and all those who
have gone before us. It is for this reason
that I find joy in this Christmas season.
Grandma Fullmer understood this and that
is why she was able to endure the pains that
she did. Her life was a life modeled after
the Savior's life. She lived to love and she
loved to live. I am grateful for the chance
that I had to be her grandson and though I
am deeply grieved by the loss I take
comfort in the fact that she is happy and that
I will see her again. It is for this reason that
all of you should be comforted. I love all of
you and I pray that all of you may be
comforted in spite of this tragedy. Find
comfort in the Savior. He is the Great
Physician. Model your lives after His.
Endure to the end like Grandma Fullmer
did. Have joy in the Savior. May all of you
be comforted and find joy, and this I pray in
the sacred name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
Love always,
Elder Alexander T. Fullmer"

With these three testimonies, one from the

Holy Bible, one from the living prophet,
and one from my dear son, I leave my own,
that he lives, that Christ the Lord was
resurrected and through the atonement we
will see our dear Mother and Father, who
have been reunited in the bonds of love
through the atonement, again. All we need
to do is live worthy of such a reunion,
follow our Savior, and endure to the end as
my parents did. That we might find joy and
comfort in this is my prayer in the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.
