PRESENTE SIMPLE

El presente simple es un tiempo verbal del presente que se utiliza para hablar acerca
de hechos o verdades generales que constituyen
Hábitos, horarios o programas, costumbres y rutinas de la vida cotidiana.
En su forma principal (pronombres I, you, we y they), el verbo no sufre cambios en su
ortografía.

Sin embargo, en la forma verbal de las 3ras personas del singular (he, she, it), existen
ciertas reglas.

< En oraciones afirmativas se debe agregar al verbo en su forma simple una “s”;
mientras que a las negativas e interrogativas no, debido a que esto lo lleva implícito en
el uso del auxiliar para 3ras personas “does”.
< Cuando el verbo acaba ya sea en “s”, o en un sonido parecido como “ss”, “sh”, “ch” o
“x” se agrega la terminación “es”.
< Cuando el verbo acaba en “o”, también se añade “es”.
< Cuando el verbo acaba en “y”, y a ésta le precede una consonante, esta debe ser
sustituida  por “i”, para a continuación añadir “es”.

Forma Negativa:

Para usar en negativa el present simple con cualquier verbo que sea diferente al to be,
usamos el auxiliar don’t o doesn’t, normalmente contraídos:

Ejemplo:

My father check his e-mails everydays.

He DOES NOT check his e-mails everydays.

My parents go to the beach on vacation.

They DO NOT go to the beach on vacation.

Forma Interrogativa:

Para hacer preguntas en presente simple con verbos diferentes a to be, empezamos la
pregunta con el auxiliar DO (para I, you, we y they) o DOES (para she, he y it):

Ejemplo:

I live in Aguachica.
DO you live in Aguachica?
Yes, I do.
No, I don`t

My friend listen to music on weekend.

DOES he listen to music on weekend?
Yes, he does.
No, he doesn`t.

Expresiones para Expresar Interés y gusto.

En conversaciones cotidianas, y en casi cualquier entorno es común abordar el tema de

los gustos e intereses en inglés. Es una practica muy utilizada para romper el hielo, y
comenzar una conversación con una persona que recién se conoce. Algunas de estas
expresiones son:
