RELIGIOUS RITUAL OR BIBLICAL SPIRITUAL REALITY

TRUE, REAL, GODLY PRAYER & FASTING AS OPPOSED TO FALSE, UNGODLY PRAYER & FASTING ISAIAH 58 VERSES 1 -- 12
1 Cry aloud, spare not, raise your voice like a trumpet, declare to my people their transgression, and to the house
of Jacob their sins. 2 They seek me daily, and delight to know my ways: as a nation of righteousness, honouring the
ordinances of their God, they desire my righteous judgments; wanting to draw near to God.
YET THEY SAY 3 We have fasted, so why does God does not see it? We have afflicted our soul, why God does not
acknowledge it? HERE IS WHY, In the day of your fast you seek your own pleasure, demanding all your desires.
4 You fast with strife and contention, to smite with fists of retaliation: you do not fast with a good attitude helpful
for your prayers to be heard on high. 5 Is this such a fast that I would accept? This is a day when a man is to humble
his soul, to bow down his head as a reed or bull rush, a time to spread sackcloth and ashes under him? Will you not
consider, this is the only type of fast, that is acceptable to Jehovah?
6 This is the type of fast that I choose: One that breaks the chains of wickedness, that releases the bands of
bondages and to allows the oppressed to go free, and helps break every yoke. 7 It is my will for you to share your
bread with the hungry, and that you would bring the poor and rejected into your house. So that when you see the
naked, you will clothe him; and not hide yourself from your brother but be compassionate
8 Then your light will break forth as the dawn, and your healing will spring forth speedily; righteousness will go
before you and the glory of Jehovah shall be behind you.
9 Then You will call, and Jehovah will answer; you will cry, and he will say, here I am. If you remove far from yourself
the pointing of the finger of accusation and speaking criticism; 10 If you open your heart to the hungry, and satisfy
the afflicted soul: then your light will rise in darkness, and your obscurity be as the sun at midday. 11 Jehovah will
guide you continually, and satisfy your soul when in dry places, He will make strong your bones; and you will be like
a watered garden, like a spring of water, whose waters never fail you.
12 Those that are of you shall rebuild the old waste places; you will raise up the foundations of many generations;
and you will be called, the repairer of the breach, the restorer of paths to dwell in. 13 If you turn and walk away
from my covenant, and from fulfilling your pleasure on my holy days; and see them as a delight, and the holy
desires of Jehovah as honourable; If you respect the covenant and not choose own ways, nor follow your own
pleasure, nor speak out your own ideas: 14 but delight yourself in Jehovah; I will make you to ride upon the high
places of earth; and I will give you the heritage of Jacob thy father: for the mouth of Jehovah has spoken it.
