Učenici znaju šta je Majčin dan i način na koji se čestita i obeležava u svetu .
OBRAZOVNI ZADACI:
- upoznavanje sa datumima i načinom proslave Majčin dana;
- učenje i uvežbavanje izraza i reči kojima se čestita Majčin dan – Happy Mother’s Day, Thanks Mum, Love (Ivan)
VASPITNI ZADACI:
- upoznavanje sa tradicijom proslavljanja praznika Mother’s Day u zemljama engleskog govornog područja;
- razvijanje ljubavi prema poeziji.

GLAVNI DEO:

Lead-in. Introducing the topic. (frontalno – uvod u temu)

 Nastavnik na tabli napiše Mother’s Day i pita da li neko zna šta je to. U nastavku ispriča detalje na maternjem
jeziku. Uporediti sa Danom žena, istaći razlike – Dan žena je posvećen svim ženama i slavi se sasvim drugačijim
povodom, a Majčin dan je posvećen samo majkama.

Present Day Celebrations

Today Mother’s Day is celebrated in several countries including US, UK, India, Denmark, Finland, Italy, Turkey,
Australia, Mexico, Canada, China, Japan and Belgium etc. People take the day as an opportunity to pay tribute to their
mothers and thank them for all their love and support. The day has become hugely popular and in several countries
phone lines witness maximum traffic. There is also a tradition of giving flowers, cards and other gifts to mothers on
the Mother’s Day.

Mother’s Day celebrations take place at different times around the world:
United States, Australia, Canada, New Zealand: Second Sunday in the month of May.
United Kingdom/England: Mother's Day is called Mothering Sunday and falls on the fourth Sunday in Lent.

How is Mother’s Day celebrated?

In many countries special prayer services are held in churches in honor of mothers. But the most common method of
celebrating Mother’s Day is to treat mothers with breakfast in bed. Children allow their mothers to sleep till late in the
morning while they along with their father juggle in the kitchen to prepare her favourite breakfast. Most often a
Mother’s Day card and a bunch of bouquet accompany the meticulously laid breakfast. Many children prepare a card
themselves a day before Mother’s Day. Some also make handmade gifts to show their respect and affection for their
mother. Grown up children prefer to buy gifts from the stores ranging from clothes, accessories to jewelry.
Cakes, cookies and pies are the favourite dishes prepared on the occasion of Mother’s Day. Some consider having
dinner at home with the family as an ideal way of celebrating Mother’s Day, many on the other hand prefer to dine
out. Hence, restaurants are seeing more business then ever on the occasion of Mothers Day.
Since Mother’s Day is observed as a holiday in lot of countries many like to take the opportunity to go out for family
picnics and have fun. In several schools, celebrations of Mother’s Day are organised wherein children present skits,
songs and plays to honor mothers.

Activity 1. Presenting Mother’s Day words and phrases (frontalno + individualno – uvođenje izraza i reči koje
se odnose na temu Majčin dan)

 Nastavnik pita – Do you remember Christmas and New Year’s greetings? What do you tell people for Christmas
ans New Year? (Merry Christmas, Happy New Year) What do you think is the Mother’s Day greeting? (Happy
Mother’s Day) Nastavnik napiše ovaj izraz odmah ispod naslova koji je napisao u uvodnom delu.

 Na tabli nacrta i napiše kako je prikazano sa desne strane, pokazuje reči i čita naglas. Mum!
Pozove učenike da ponove. Pita – What do you think this is? (A message on the Mother’s Day Love
card) What does it say? Read it. Nekoliko učenika pročita poruku. Ivan

Activity 2. Reading and writing. Mother’s Day section in the Class Book. (frontalno – čitanje i pisanje reči koje
se odnose na praznik Majčin Dan.)

 Rade se zadatak 1 u udžbeniku – Trace. Nastavnik pokazuje izraze i reči i kaže – Trace the words with your
pencils.

Activity 3. Mommy I love you – a Mother’s Day poem. Umetnička pesma za mamu – jedna strofa.
(frontalno – učenje i uvežbavanje pesme za mamu)

Nastavnik kaže – You are going to learn a Mother’s Day poem. Listen. Slušaju je
jednom u celini (nastavnik čita). Ponovo slušaju i ponavljaju – Listen and repeat
(2X). U nastavku recituju pesmu i pokazuju radnje. Nastavnik objašnjava i
pokazuje – Mommy, I love you (put your hands on your heart); For all that you do
(draw a big circle in the air with both hands); I’ll kiss you (put your hand on your
mouth) and hug you (mime a hug) Cause you love me too (draw a big heart in
the air with both hands and put them back on your heart).
Učenici govore pesmu dok je ne zapamte.

ZAVRŠNI DEO:

Dobrovoljci recituju pesmu sami ili u paru.

Napomenuti učenicima da za sledeći čas donesu kolaž papir, makaze, lepak, bojice i flomastere za ukrašavanje
