"Power Evangelism" is the title of a book by a contact@pamsheppard.com
Christian Charismatic leader named John Wimber.
The term is also applied to the movement and the
process described in his book.

Power Evangelism is a form of ministry which relies

primarily on what is believed to be the supernatural
power and gifts of the Holy Ghost. Although the
word of God teaches that a person is brought to
faith solely through the active choice of God in the
person of the Holy Spirit, in power evangelism,
supernatural events such as healings and miracles AS OF
are a demonstration of the power, and therefore
the reality, of God. 1/30/2011,
Wimber took an approach to the charismatic which
was somewhat different from that of peers and THE NEW
predecessors. This new approach led his IDOLATRY
friend, Peter Wagner to coin the phrase "the Third
Wave." The Third Wave differed from classic

Pentecostalism and the Charismatic movement, RELEASED!
foremost, in their approach to speaking in tongues.
Whereas the previous groups had emphasized the CLICK THE BOOKS
gift of tongues as the only evidence for the baptism COVER TO REVIEW
of the Holy Ghost, Wimber and those he influenced AND BUY YOUR
COPY!
emphasized that tongues was just one of the many
spiritual gifts taught in the Bible.

With Wember, of the nine gifts of the Holy Ghost,

healing and miracles was at the forefront of power
evangelism. As for Wimber, he died of a brain
hemmorage on November 17, 1997 at the age of 63.
Just before he died, he had also sustained a
coronary by pass operation. It is ironic that
someone as heavy into healing and miracles should Iclick here

die as the result of serious illnesses.

When I myself was a strong believer in healing and

miracles, I had never heard of Wimber. In fact, I
was into healing and miracles as an atheist,
psychic medium, steeped in the occult. Once I
became born again, demons spoke to me directly
about miracles and healing with dreams, visions,
prophetic words and various counterfeit
revelations and manifestations about my own
healing and miracles ministry. It took 25 years, but
the Lord lifted the veil of deception from me about
5 years ago.

The Bible warns that in the last days, the enemy's

manifestations of healing and miracles are going to
appear to be so authentic, that they may even fool
the elect. Well, I've been at this too long to be
allow myself to be fooled AGAIN!.

Do I believe that God will also manifest healing and

miracles in the last days? Yes, I do. I do not believe
in a pre-tribulation rapture. I believe that the saints
who are alive shall go through endtime tribulation.
When the plagues fall and the judgment vials have
been completely poured out, I believe that God will
make a provision for His people. For example,
when danger is all around us and there are no
material provisions for those who refuse the mark
of the beast, God will supernaturally provide for us.
For example, the book of Revelation points out that
how two martyrs called "the two witnesses" shall
die in the streets for ALL to see. They shall be
raised up from death to life, probably on satellite
television. The variety and and extent of God's
endtime miracles are beyond my finite
imagination.

Of one thing, I am sure. Pure evangelism targets

the salvation of souls. We are saved by faith
through grace, and not by signs and wonders,
miracles and healings. Jesus said that it is a
perverse nation that seeks after signs. Just as we
did not choose when we were born, we cannot
choose when we are born again. If any one chooses
Christ because he or she saw or experienced a
miracle or a healing, then their salvation is suspect,
to say the least.

In the excerpt in purple quoted below, --- taken

from an Internet Christian News Report,--- you will
see for yourself the impact Wimber and his
associates have had on power evangelism. If you
have been consistently reading these mentoring
letters that I send out each week, then once you
read this excerpt, your spiritual eyebrow should be
sufficiently RAISED.

What is the fastest-growing religion on Earth? Most

news reports suggest it is Islam. But the evidence
suggests a new, or, perhaps, original form of
biblically inspired evangelical Christianity is
sweeping through places like China, Africa, India
and Southeast Asia – making it, by far, the fastest
growing faith on the planet.

In "Megashift," author Jim Rutz coins a new phrase

to define this fast-growing segment of the
population. He calls them "core apostolics" – or
"the new saints who are at the heart of the
mushrooming kingdom of God." Rutz makes the
point that Christianity is overlooked as the fastest-
growing faith in the world because most surveys
look at the traditional Protestant denominations
and the Roman Catholic Church while ignoring
Christian believers who have no part of either. He
says there are 707 million "switched-on disciples"
who fit into this new category and that this
"church" is exploding in growth. The growing core
of Christianity crosses theological lines and includes
707 million born-again people who are increasing by
8 percent a year," he says.

So fast is this group growing that, under current

trends, according to Rutz, the entire world will be
composed of such believers by the year 2032.
"There will be pockets of resistance and unforeseen
breakthroughs," writes Rutz. "Still, at the rate
we're growing now, to be comically precise, there
would be more Christians than people by the
autumn of 2032, about 8.2 billion." According to the
author, until 1960, Western evangelicals
outnumbered non-Western evangelicals – mostly
Latinos, blacks and Asians – by two to one. As of
2000, non-Western evangelicals outnumbered
Westerners by four to one. That moved to seven to
one this year.

"There are now more missionaries sent from non-

Western nations than Western nations," he
writes. This trend, says Rutz, has been missed by
Westerners because the explosive growth is
elsewhere. Hundreds of millions of these Christians
are simply not associated with the institutional
churches at all.

They meet in homes. They meet underground. They

meet in caves. They meet, he says, in secret.
And what is driving this movement?

Miracles, he says.

"Megashift" attempts to document myriad healings

and other powerful answers to the sincere prayers
of this new category of believer, including, believe
it or not, hundreds of dramatic cases of
resurrections – not near-death experiences, but real
resurrections of actual corpses.

But, Rutz says, it now happens around the globe

every 25 minutes.
"By tomorrow, there will be 175,000 more
Christians than there are today," he writes. The
essence of Rutz's book is about how Western
Christians can tap into what he sees as a mighty
work of God on Earth.

"Very few people realize the nature of life on Earth

is going through a major change," he writes. "We
are seeing a megashift in the basic direction of
human history. Until our time, the ancient war
between good and evil was hardly better than a
stalemate. Now all has changed. The Creator whose
epic story flows through the pages of Scripture has
begun to dissolve the strongholds of evil. This new
drama is being played out every hour around the
globe, accompanied sometimes by mind-bending
miracles."

What Rutz and his "megashift" concept overlooks is

that "straight is the way and narrow is the gate that
leads to eternal life." In other words, "souls that
are REALLY saved," are but a handful that God has
gleaned from every generation. It never fails.
When third world people become "Christian," more
often than not, they do not give up their cultural,
tribal practices from their religion of birth,
including their practice of what we know to be
witchcraft. Also, nothing in the "megashift"
concept mentions sin, the cross or the resurrection
as it relates to the salvation of those whom he
refers to as "the new category" of a present day
believer. I would ask Mr. Rutz, if he has ever heard
of the healings attributed to the fallen angels
Maitreya and Mother Mary.

An Excerpt from "THE NEW IDOLATRY: Charismatic
Witchcraft, Deliverance and Other Counterfeits.

Dominion Theology
 Yet another heresy crucial to the emergence of a spiritual
humanism component of charismatic witchcraft is “dominion
theology.” Crossing several lines with diversified
applications, one central endtimes related issue is dominion
theology‟s supposition that Jesus Christ cannot or will not
come back to earth until the organized charismatic
church has taken control of the earth‟s political and social
institutions. Strongly connected to New Age thought,
Charismatics teach that man‟s self actualization is his
personal pursuit of freedom in his progressive attainment of
his own personal state of Christ like divinity. In other words, if
we all develop our “Christ Consciousness” within, we will
become “gods” with a small “g.”

Dave Hunt, a bestselling Christian author, lays it on the

line:

“Peale, Schuler, Robertson, Hagin, Copeland and others have

brought into the church ancient occultism as part of the
„signs and wonders‟ and „prosperity‟ movement foretold in
Scripture. Many Christians now assume that our thoughts and
words, not God, control our destiny---that we are little
gods capable of creating our own world.”[1]

Along these same lines, there is very little difference

between dominion theology and new age occultism, as
demonstrated by the words of leading proponent Earl Paulk,
the pastor of Chapel Hill Harvest Church in Atlanta, as
compared to a message channeled through a new age
medium. Note the similarities in the two statements:[2]

“Christ in us must take over the dominion over the earth. The
next move of God cannot occur until Christ in us take
dominion.” (Paulk)

“One by one, great awakened souls are coming forth who will
become clearly conscious of their own mighty, inherent God
Power and such as these will be placed in all official positions
of government.” (This is a psychic medium‟s message from a
fallen angel)

POWER EVANGELISM
AND CHARISMATIC WITCHCRAFT

Also in the 1980's, yet another movement appeared on the

religious scene which made the Pentecostal/ charismatic false
teachings even more appealing and dangerous. Why?
Because this movement promoted the same, basic
unscriptural doctrines held by Pentecostals and Charismatics
while, in its inception, disclaiming any relationship to either of
these groups, thus making it especially attractive to
evangelicals and fundamentalists who did not want to wear
the charismatic label.

The impetus for this new movement came largely from

several widely circulated books and many lectures to
evangelical groups around the world by Dr. John Wimber,
founder of the Vineyard Christian Fellowship [now
deceased, Wimber was never healed of his cancer, despite his
supposed healing miracles ministry], and Dr. Peter Wagner of
Fuller Theological Seminary Institute of Church Growth.[3]

Both men greatly influenced each other and, as they

experimented with various teachings and practices related to
"healing, miracles, signs and wonders," they soon
augmented the Pentecostal and charismatic errors. They
claimed that the exorcising of so-called "territorial spirits"
was essential to complete the task of world evangelization;
and, that God had re-established the offices of prophet and
apostle with those supposedly holding these offices receiving
direct messages from God for the church, and exercising
divine authority over the church. The “territorial spirits”
teaching also combined with the false teachings inherent in
deliverance ministry, exposed in the next chapter. This
newest movement is often referred to as "Power Evangelism
or the "Third Wave of the Holy Spirit." Ecumenical in scope
and decidedly worldly in practice, the three so-called "waves
of the Holy Spirit" (Pentecostals, Charismatics and Power
Evangelism teachers) have now blended into a powerful
coalition which has rapidly spread and become a political
force to reckon with. These are the

present day “Tea Party” antagonists to President Obama‟s

administration. Even more destructive from a
biblical perspective, “the Third Wave” is a huge part of
the religious monstrosity predicted by Paul to Timothy when
he warned that in the last days, some would depart from the
faith because they gave heed to doctrines of devils through
the ministry of seducing spirits..[4]
