WAYS TO PREVENT CRIME

Trust and security are very important to people. In fact, these emotions are people's
basic psychological needs. However, people commit crimes, knowingly or unknowingly. In
other words, there are some behaviors that are prohibited by the legal order in the country.
There are many factors that trigger a crime. There may be some reasons that lead a person to
crime and committing crime has almost become a trend and this trend is spreading in our
country and the world. Why would a person commit a crime, knowing that his behavior is
wrong and that he will regret it in the future? In this essay, I will explain why people commit
crimes and how we can prevent it.

Firstly, crime rates have increased a lot nowadays. There could be many reasons for
this. One of the reasons for me is lack of education. No matter what culture a person is in or
what language they speak, education is very important and plays a determining role in the
level of crime in a country. Education is a process that starts from birth and continues until
death. It starts with the family, continues with the school and the environment. The main
purpose of education is to give good behavior to people. For this reason, the role of education
is enormous. A properly educated person has no tendency to crime. It should not be
understood that education is required only for pre-crime. Education is necessary for the
reintegration of criminals into society after crime.Every people have a psychological defense
mechanism and this mechanism is shaped and strengthened over time with education.
Otherwise, the person cannot be resistant to the effects and pressures coming from his/her
inner world and environment. People can't resist pressure and commit crimes.Family,high
culture,courses,education,good friends,environment,equality,good opportunities, love and
respect. These are the definition of social balance.We can say that, when the elements that
provide psychological and social balance come together, or rather complement each other, a
psycho-social balance is established in human beings, and thanks to this, a person becomes a
civilized person who abides by the rules of society. When the psycho-social balance is
broken, people commit crimes. This balance can be achieved with a very good education and
training. In this way, the crime rate of a country is drastically reduced. Education also reduces
poverty within the country, and accordingly, the rate of crime due to poverty decreases. A
hungry person who cannot feed can steal and it is a crime. He will choose to steal to survive.
For this reason, educated people easily find jobs and the crime rate decreases in that country.

Secondly, some bad traits in families can also lead children and young people to
commit crimes. We just mentioned about the factors for psychological and social balance.
Let's consider the opposite of these factors.For instance, family pressure, excessive interest or
indifference from parents, unstable and bad parental discipline, no father or mother; separated
parents; the father is an alcoholic; father's being away from home for a long time due to his
obligation to work; unemployment and economic weakness; changing environment
frequently. Crime is an emotion learned over time like other behaviors. In this process, all
these negativities affect human psychology. People who have been exposed to these
adversities from the past to the present have been prone to commit crimes. especially the
balance within the family is as important as education. Because family is the first place the
child opens his eyes to the world. The child's first teacher is his mother and father.

To sum up, there are many reasons for committing a crime and it is possible to take
precautions and reduce the level of crime. Families and the goverments also have
responsibilities in this regard. Crime is a learned behavior like any other behavior. This is
learned and shaped over time in the human brain. First of all, education is very important for a
person to behave correctly and live in accordance with the rules. A person with a lack of
education does not know how to behave and cannot adapt to social rules. And while a well-
educated person in his future life has good job opportunities, an uneducated person cannot
find a job opportunity. Unemployment and poverty are the motives for crime. I think people
will not commit crimes if they grow up well-educated.Also, psycho-social balance is
important.Because, when the psycho-social balance is broken, people commit crimes. On the
other hand, difficulties and negativities in the family affect children badly. family pressure,
excessive interest or indifference from parents, unstable and bad parental discipline, no father
or mother; separated parents; the father is an alcoholic; father's being away from home for a
long time due to his obligation to work; unemployment and economic weakness; changing
environment frequently. These are all factors that foster a sense of crime. İts directly affects
human psychology and causes negative behavior. For this reason, it is possible to live in a
more beautiful world with a low crime rate, with a good family atmosphere and a good
education.
