Pyramid of the Sun and Pyramid of the Moon of Teotihuacán

The Pyramid of the Sun has a height of 70 meters, which makes it the third largest in the world
after Cheops and Cholula. The architecture gives a special orientation to this pyramid so that on
June 21 the sun is hidden just in front of the pyramid; the pyramid being a solar clock.

The Pyramid of the Moon is smaller, but of similar height. In front of the pyramid we find the Plaza
de la Luna, along with 12 other temples, a total of 13 temples that represent a very important
number for the calculation of the days in the Mayan calendar.

La Pirámide del Sol tiene una altura de 70 metros, lo que la convierte en la tercera más grande del mundo
después de Cheops y Cholula. La arquitectura le da una orientación especial a esta pirámide para que el 21 de
junio el sol se oculte justo enfrente de la pirámide; la pirámide es un reloj solar.

La Pirámide de la Luna es más pequeña, pero de altura similar. Frente a la pirámide encontramos la Plaza de
la Luna, junto con otros 12 templos, un total de 13 templos que representan un número muy importante para
el cálculo de los días en el calendario maya.
