Introduction
Most of schools from primary to colleges have a field trip or known as
Educational tour yearly, that is a part of the academic experience of a student to
understand about various subjects, provide them with an opportunity to collaborate
with other teachers, different student, different people and integrate new
perspectives with informal environments to enhance learning initiatives. And of
course to get out the student from their comfort zone, from stresses due to different
activities inside the school.

On last November 28, 2019 The ROYAL BRITISH COLLEGE students had an
Educational Tour with the partner of Solomon Travel and Tours. This activity was not
just for fun only, but for us to get more knowledged, ideas about the given itineraries
as part of my strand, as well as to educate us from some places especially for me as
a Tourism student, it is my opportunity to take some good trip with other itineraries
outside the Province of Batangas.

The first itinerary was Lakbay Moseo located at Level 1, S Maison, Marina Way, Mall
of Asia Complex Pasay City, Philippines opens 10am-10pm (9pm last tour) of
Manila. It was almost four hour bus ride from Lipa City to Pasay City. Lakbay museo
has 1,000 square meters space is filled with interesting portals that highlights the
best destinations in the Philippines. Before you enter inside the area the receptionist
will give you Admission passes include 12 tokens, which guests can use to buy
meals from the carinderia or candies and chips from the sari-sari store. There are
three ways to enter inside the lakbay museo first through the vinta, hop on a colorful
jeepney, or climb an airplane and, surprise, slide down to enter the gallery. The
museum is divided into 11 areas with separate stations for the National Capital
Region, Ilocos Region (Region I), Cagayan Valley (Region II), Central Luzon (Region
III), Southern Tagalog (CALABARZON and MIMAROPA), Bicol Region (Region V),
Western Visayas (Region VI), Central Visayas (Region VII), Eastern Visayas (Region
VIII), Cordillera Administrative Region, and the whole island of Mindanao. Lakbay
museo has fourteen unique experiences and eleven different destinations. It bring as
to travel from Luzon to Visayas and Mindanao and get to know more about
Philippine history and culture without having to spend days of traveling and a lot of
money.

Some interesting event that you can see and witness inside the museo is the
Pahiyas Festival in Quezon Province, a colorful celebration of the region's bountiful
harvest. Another section of Lakbay Museo is dedicated to traditional textiles from all
over the Philippines, including the t'nalak from Lake Sebu and inabel from Northern
Luzon. They have also Mayon Volcano one of the active volcano in the word and it
is famous for its perfect cone that located at Bicol region and a small tunnel under a
replica of the Mayon Volcano is filled with mirrors and lights, perfect for photo
experiments. One of the stations showcasing the Philippines' one of a kind
underwater world we're in the Coral Triangle, the world's epicenter of marine
biodiversity. Visitors can learn more about the region's festivals, such as the Pahiyas
in Quezon, or traditional houses, like Batanes' Ivatan house and the bale of the
Ifugao, as well as regional cuisines through life sized displays. There are cultural
performances all throughout the day. Lakbay Museo also houses a large collection of
Philippine staples. This includes samples of dried fish, such as palad from
Samar, bisugo from Ilocos, and labahita from Batangas. If you familiar about dried or
called as bulad in visyan dialect it has different odor but don’t you worry about that
cause you won’t end up smelling like tinapa as if you stopped by the famous Taboan
in visayan dialect in English Public Market in Cebu, because what they have on
display are just life-like replicas. The real deal is inside sealed jars, which you can
smell for the full experience. There are also shelves for different kinds of local
vinegar (from Sukang Iloco to sukang paombong), bagoong (from bagoong
alamang to bagoong sisi), coffee beans and roasts (from barako to alamid), and rice
grains (from the Ifugao's Minaangan to the Mountain Province's Ominio).Feel like
you're in Cebu's Taboan Public Market minus the smell of dried fish.

You can see there the different coffee beans grown in the Philippines as well
as the different kind of rice rice as we all know that the Philippines has a long list of
rice varieties. Lakbay Museo already has about 600 pieces showcasing local
delicacies. They have also vintage jeepney inside with all its vibrant colors,
airbrushed designs, and all sorts of decor, is distinctly Filipino. There are also
different cultural performances all throughout the day. Lakbay Museo also houses a
large collection of Philippine staples and most of the displays are made of recycled
materials from used rubber slippers, old tires, plastic bottles, and other waste
products. Lakbay Museo's display about Mindanao depicts the island's dances,
traditional instruments, and local cuisines which is deserved to be proud of.

The next itinerary was The senate of the Philippines, The next itinerary was
The senate museum at the Senate of the Philippines, Located at GSIS Complex,
Jose Diokno Boulevard, Pasay City, Metro Manila almost 10 to 15 minutes bus ride
from the Lakbay museo and you’ll be there already. You can see inside the museum
houses the materials that show the mandates of the Senate under the Jones Law,
and a host of congressional records, bills, resolutions, and republic acts. The
Minutes and transcripts of Senate proceedings, open reel tape of session
proceedings, regalia of the Senate and their symbolism in the lawmaking process,
and legislative tools used by the Senate in the performance of its lawmaking tasks
are also among the many interesting artifacts that show the richness of the country's
legislative practice. There are also portraits of Senate Presidents and photographs of
the members of the Senate, biographical sketches and inaugural speeches of the
Senate Presidents, tokens given by the official guests and dignitaries, and gifts
received by Senate Presidents during their official trips in foreign countries. The
museum also gives audio-visual presentations and initiates programs and exhibits,
which are of historical significance to the Senate. The Senate of the Philippines is
the upper chamber of the Congress of the Philippines, the country’s legislature. It
exists to create and promote a national perspective on national policy in order to
build a prosperous, secure, honest and democratic nation. In the 100 years of its
founding, it has been the training ground for national leadership and has served as
the ultimate bastion of free debate and oversight of the Republic. Mr, Christian Daryll
Linga Falible the "Tourguide" tells some trivia about the senate, some additional
information about how senate of the Philippines going on as well as the flow of their
job, on how the bill becomes a law from the legislative department. It is my pleasure
to enter in this place since we all know that the Senate of the Philippines is a place
where the Law is created a place where the senators, staffs and the senate
president is working.
The last itinerary and adventurous place was the Enchanted Kingdom at the
Sta, Rosa Laguna, almost 2 hours bus ride from the senate museum before you get
there. It is the most exciting part of educational tour, there are a lots of fun and
extreme rides that make me alive on the trip despite the tiredeness due to the
crowded place in the 1st and 2nd itinerary. Enchanted Kingdom opened to the public
on October 19, 1995. It was the first and only world class theme park in the
Philippines. The theme park boasts of rides and attractions unique to the country
size and magnitude. This rides and attractions are located within meticulously
themed zones interspersed with food and merchandise outlets and kiosks as well as
various games stands that add to the enchanting experience away from the day to
day realities of life. Enchanted Kingdom is the staple trip destination for schools and
families in Luzon. This place has been enjoyed by several other celebrations, from
birthday to weddings, even team-building, and corporate family events. The ride and
activities inside the area are the Victoria Park boasts sixty Victorian-styled horses
and two chariot carousels. In front of the Grand Carousel, the Enchanted Kingdom
sign lights up at night, making the ride look more majestic and grander. There are
also Portabello based from the Carribean holds the Rio Grande Rapids. This ride let
you board a rubber raft and throws you to a refreshing water adventure. You’ll be
traversing the fast rapids with raging water and small waterfalls, so make sure you
have your electronics in a waterproof container.the next is Boulderville will remind
you of the wonders of Dinosaurs, with it’s Dino themed rides and it has multiple rides
that kids of all ages will enjoy, from the train ride of Boulderville Express, merry go
round rides in the Stone Eggs, Bumbling Boulders, and Dinosoarus, to more extreme
rides like Bouncing Boulder. Kids (young ones to be exact) can even enjoy some
water rides in the Boulderville Kiddie Boats. The Midway Boardwalk, on the other
hand, offers a more thrill-seeking ride. This themed area is patterned after the Coney
Island in Brooklyn, New York. The Anchors Away, EKstreme Tower and Roller
Skater can be all found in this area. Another notable ride would be the Wheel of
Fate, a Ferris wheel that can lift you up to 130 feet above the ground and enjoy the
view of the whole park. The perfect time to rides in ferrish wheel should be during the
nights around 6 to 7pm so that you will enjoy the view and beautiful scenery of
around the area. And if you want to movies they have also Brooklyn Place houses
one of the attraction inside is the Rialto 4D. This area is based in the wartime New
York and Silent Film era. Rialto is a motion stimulated theater which houses up to
108 seats. It is currently showing Barnyard Breakout and Polar Ice Ride.
Spaceport houses Park, which sits near the entrance of the park, hold The Grand
Carousel. Upon entry, they are greeted by the famous Space Shuttle, the roller
coaster that will turn you upside down 6 times, 3 times going forward and 3 times
back, all this thrill is under two minutes. Space shuttle is known for its gravity
challenging thrill and most shrieking screams of those who are in it. Lastly,
the Jungle Outpost, which holds another roller coaster ride, but with a twist, Jungle
Log Jam. This ride offers the same thrill of riding a roller coaster but also gives the
rider a refreshing splash of water. You must have extra gears or clothes so you can
change outfit anytime in case you’ll getting wet due to the different activities.
Experience

Well even though when I’m not in good condition due to I feel tired and still
awake, my tummy is not feeling well but I still enjoy this trip because I have been to
one of the famous places that I don't expect I can go to which are Lakbay museo, the
senate of the Philippines and the land of magic (Enchanted Kingdom). The first stop
is on the Lakbay museo, I am happy to travel with my classmates and other co-
students and while on the road some students are listening music, the others are
singing and some are eating their foods. While the bus is on its way to final
destination I saw different views the beautiful buildings and the most exciting, I saw
may airplanes in the NAIA a famous airport in the Philippines which reminds me and
one of the reason why I’ll got here in manila now. Then an hour we got already there
at Mall of Asia where the Lakbay Museo was located. I’m amazed when I was there
so many students from different schools. Like the traffic in edsa I need to wait for an
hour to enter inside the Lakbay Muse, I feel pain in my two legs due to long standing
while waiting on the line. Then when I got already inside the waiting outside is so
worth it because the views and different scenery is beautiful and they are so creative
all the materials that they used for the props and displays are recycled materials. I
take some picture for remembrance. Im amazed also to the ventage display there it
looks like a vitage small drums it’s called agong in visayan dialect it is used for
occational events to produce sounds while the presenter are dancing mostly found in
moutains village they are known as katutubo people. I saw also the different cultural
dance and other best specialties of Philippines. It ake my taste buds on a journey
with different Pinoy food, drinks, take a look and pictures, textiles, and even try on
various traditional clothing, open my eyes to the many traditional dances, shows and
of course, go around interactive exhibits which we can experience through different
senses that deserved to be proud of as it part of the Philippines archipelago.

The second stop is on the of the Philippines were the law was created. Mr,
Christian Daryll Linga Falible the "Tourguide" tells some trivia about the senate,
some additional information about how senate of the Philippines going on as well as
the flow of their job, on how the bill becomes a law from the legislative department. It
is my pleasure to enter in this place since we all know that the Senate of the
Philippines is a place where the Law is created a place where the senators, staffs
and the senate president is working. I'm so impressed because I saw a lot of
interesting things and historical inside the museum, I was overwhelm about the
historical value of the materials even it is displayed and not to be seen in personally
during the used of the senate staffs and senate president.

And the last but not the least itnerary was The land of magic the Enchanted
Kingdom an adventurous place located at Sta, Rosa Laguna, almost 2 hours bus
ride from manila before you get there. It is the most exciting part of educational Tour,
lots of fun and extreme rides that make me alive on the trip despite the tiredeness
due to the crowded place in the 1 st and 2nd itinerary. I take three rides only EKstreme,
roller coaster and ferris wheel, due to many people wants to take rides, almost 1hr
and thirty minutes of waiting before you can ride. I’m enjoying this filed trip
particularly on extreme rides that will leave my lung screaming and spirit out. This is
my way to release the negativities, stresses as well as my eagerness in extreme
rides. It is my first time rides in extreme tower, a tower where almost 100 feet high,
roller coaster with the speed of almost 60 kph, and the last and best ride for me is on
the Ferris wheel its feels like I’m on the cloud nine, and I want to stay upstairs and
enjoy the beautiful scenery. It is worth even the time is limited because of the call
time to go back in batangas. My Educational tour will not completed if I don’t take a
picture at ferris wheel that almost 100 feet high with the breath taking over view all
over the city of Laguna, Batangas and Manila and the beautiful light forms from the
building and the street lights as remembrance and for compilation of final product.
Though this experience, I gather more information and knowledge to be used as a
Tourism student. I enjoy the place because it narrates the life and cultures of the
filipino's, that reflects to our daily lives. My 2k is worth it I learn a lot about the
different cultures of the Philippines the capital, how the senate going on and to deal
with different peoples, different nature and most of all how to handle patience due to
the traffic and crowded places. The tour guide has a good sense of humour,
outstanding and the information given to us well informative.

Application

As a former tourism student it’s my pleasure for having Educational

endeavour experience. Through this opportunity it allows me to soak a fresh
experience that I can used to enhance career prospects in the future. This is very
important in several ways and one of this it help me learn through visual experience
and it also an interesting way to explore new things for me and to my teachers.  The
major educational element is giving me a chance to build closer bonds with my
classmates, creates unforgettable experience, learn amazing things, experience a
new environment and enjoy a day away from the classroom. Since I am a student
my task is went school and going back home again so stress I need to get out to my
comfort zone to explore some things that can helps me to break the monotony of
college life and better understood the real world. It helps my minds to explore the
unknown, and provides immense happiness and a sense of satisfaction. In addition
to this endeavour helps me to be a better leader, good influence to other and how do
I take care the nature. Since, one of the advocacies of tourism is to raise awareness
of youth and everyone to travel all over the word as well as to be well educated and
to be responsible to our surroundings. I gather more information about nature,
architecture, environment, development, history, culture, religion, dance and music
as well as the values that may applied in any aspect of job.
“See the world. It's more fantastic than any dream made or paid for in
factories. Ask for no guarantees, ask for no security.”
