Art.896.- Los hechos de que se trata en esta parte del Código son
todos los acontecimientos susceptibles de producir alguna
adquisición, modificación, transferencia o extinción de los
derechos u obligaciones.

Section 896.- The acts included in this part of the Code are all
the events which may produce/give rise to/create an acquisition,
modification, transfer or extinction/extinguishment of rights or
obligations.

Art.897.- Los hechos humanos son voluntarios o involuntarios. Los

hechos se juzgan voluntarios, si son ejecutados con
discernimiento, intención y libertad.

Section 897.- Human acts are voluntary or involuntary. The acts

are considered voluntary if they are performed knowingly,
willfully and freely.

Art.900.- Los hechos que fueren ejecutados sin discernimiento,

intención y libertad, no producen por sí obligación alguna.

Section 900.- The acts which are not performed knowingly,

willfully and freely do not produce any obligations.

Art.923.- La ignorancia de las leyes, o el error de derecho en

ningún caso impedirá los efectos legales de los actos lícitos, ni
excusará la responsabilidad por los actos ilícitos.

Section 923.- The fact of ignoring the laws or incurring an error

in law shall not prevent the legal effects of lawful acts nor
shall it excuse responsibility for unlawful acts. // Otra opción:
Ignorance or error of law shall in no case prevent the legal
effects of lawful acts nor shall it excuse responsibility for
unlawful acts.

Art.944.- Son actos jurídicos los actos voluntarios lícitos, que

tengan por fin inmediato, establecer entre las personas relaciones

jurídicas, crear, modificar, transferir, conservar o aniquilar

derechos.

Section 944.- Legal acts are voluntary lawful acts, and their
immediate purpose is to create legal relations among persons,
create, modify, transfer, preserve or extinguish rights. // Otra
opción: Legal acts are voluntary lawful acts, the immediate
purpose of which is to create legal relations among persons,
create, modify, transfer, preserve or extinguish rights.

Art.946.- Los actos jurídicos son unilaterales o bilaterales. Son

unilaterales, cuando basta para formarlos la voluntad de una sola
persona, como el testamento. Son bilaterales, cuando requieren el
consentimiento unánime de dos o más personas.

Section 946.- Legal acts are unilateral or bilateral. Unilateral

legal acts require the will of one person to perform them, as in
the case of a last will and testament. Bilateral legal acts
require the unanimous consent of two or more persons.

Art.973.- La forma es el conjunto de las prescripciones de la ley,

respecto de las solemnidades que deben observarse al tiempo de la
formación del acto jurídico; tales son: la escritura del acto, la
presencia de testigos, que el acto sea hecho por escribano
público, o por un oficial público, o con el concurso del juez del
lugar.

Section 973.- Formalities of legal acts are the solemnities that

shall be observed when performing a legal act, to wit: the deed of
the act, the presence of witnesses, the drawing up of the act by a
notary public or a public official or with the intervention of the
local judge.

Art.980.- (Segundo párrafo) Los instrumentos públicos extendidos

de acuerdo a lo que establece este Código gozan de entera fe y
producen idénticos efectos en todo el territorio de la República
Argentina, cualquiera sea la jurisdicción donde se hubieren
otorgado.

Section 980.- Public instruments issued according to the

provisions of this Code have full faith and credit, and produce
identical effects throughout the territory of the Argentine
Republic, regardless of the jurisdiction where they have been
issued/executed.

Art.997.- (Primer párrafo) Las escrituras públicas sólo pueden ser

hechas por escribanos públicos, o por otros funcionarios
autorizados para ejercer las mismas funciones.

Section 997.- Public deeds may only be executed/drawn up by

notaries public, or by other officials authorized to
perform/exercise the same/like duties.

Art.1010.- La copia de las escrituras de que hablan los artículos

anteriores hace plena fe como la escritura matriz.

Section 1010.- The copy of the aforementioned deeds have full

faith and credit as the original one.

Art.1037.- Los jueces no pueden declarar otras nulidades de los

actos jurídicos que las que en este Código se establecen.

Section 1037.- Judges may not declare other nullities/annulments

of legal acts for causes other than the ones set forth in this
Code.

Art.1046.- Los actos anulables se reputan válidos mientras no sean

anulados; y sólo se tendrán por nulos desde el día de la sentencia
que los anulase.

Section 1046.- Voidable acts are considered valid as long as they

are not annulled, and they will only be considered null and void
as from the day of the judgement that declares them void.
