1.- SIMPLE PRESENT TENSE: El Presente Simple se construye con el infinitivo de los verbos,

pero sin la partícula TO. Es igual en todas las personas excepto en la tercera persona del

singular (She, He, It) que normalmente se le añade una S. El presente simple lo utilizamos

en oraciones que usamos habitualmente o frecuentemente.

Infinitivo: To write : Escribir En el presente simple se usa el verbo sin To o sea:

To go : Ir Write, Go, Read.

To read : Leer

Presente Simple Tercera persona singular (she, he, it)

I work : yo trabajo le agregamos “s”.

You work : tu trabajas she works : Ella trabaja

We work : nosotros trabajamos he works : El trabaja

They work : Ellos trabajan It works : esto trabaja

Rulers:

Las siguientes reglas solamente se aplican en la tercera persona del singular (she, he, It):

1.- A los verbos en tercera persona le agregamos “s” Ej: He plays = el juega - She drinks:

ella toma.

2.- Cuando el verbo termina en “Y” y le antecede una consonante cambiamos la Y por I y
agregamos ES o sea “ies” Ej: Study : Studies – She studies english- Ella estudia ingles.

3.- Cuando el verbo termina en “Y” y la antecede una vocal solamente le agregamos una

“S”. Ej: Play : Plays He plays soccer - El juega football.

4.- Cuando el verbo termina en : s, sh, ch, x, o, z, le agregamos “ES”.

- go : goes – ir, kiss : kisses - bezar, fix : fixes - reparar, wash : washes : lavar

Watch : watches – ver t.v. buzz : buzzes - zumbar

Examples:

1.- The dog eats in the garden. – El perro como en el jardin.

2.- you read a book. - Usted lee un libro.

3.- Mrs. Garcia reads a book. - La señora Garcia lee un libro.

4.- She lives in Cali. - Ella vive en Cali.

5.- they drink wáter. - Ellos toman agua.

PRACTICE

1.- Complete las siguientes oraciones con las palabras entreparentesis (verbo) aplicando

las reglas del presente simple y traducirlas.

1- I _wash__(wash) clothes.

2- The horse rums (rum) fast. El caballo corre rápido

3- Carla speaks (speak) French. Carla habla francés.

4.- We (feel) tired. Nosotros nos sentimos cansados

5- He likeses (likes) cakes. Le gustan los pasteles

6.- Alexis loves (love) his job. Alexis ama su trabajo.

7- They ( play) the guitar. Ellos tocan la guitarra

8- Diana goes (go) to the park. Diana va al parque

9- I (teach) geography. Yo enseño geografía

10- you ( sing) in a club. tu cantas en un club

12- Carlos walks (walk) in the park. Carlos camina en el parque.

13- she reads( read) the newspaper. ella lee el periódico

14- Peter and I (sleep) in the bed. Peter y yo dormimos en la cama

15.- They ( listen) the radio. Ellos escuchan la radio

2.- Se le recomienda estudiar las reglas de la tercera persona del presente simple y

tenerlas en cuenta para realizar el taller.

3.- Enviar el taller con nombre y apellido completo y grado.

1.- Realizar quince (15) oraciones en el presente simple aplicando las reglas del presente

simple y traducirlas, diferentes a las del taller. Example:

- He repairs cars in the garage. El repara carros en el garaje.

2.- Conjugar los siguientes verbos aplicando las reglas de tercera persona y traducirlos.

- eat - do – go

- cook - relax - swim

- wash - teach - fish

- write - have - say

- need - make - study

3.- Se le recomienda hacer estos ejercicios con calma y poniendo todo de su parte para

aprender y tener bien claro las reglas de tercera persona.

4.- Tiene dos semanas para hace estos ejercicios y pensar bien sus respuestas.

En el present simple, el verbo solo cambia en tercera persona del singular (he, she, it, una persona,
una cosa), donde se añade el sufijo -s o -es.

El sufijo -es se utiliza cuando el verbo termina con las letras ss, sh, ch, x, o, z.

Cuando el verbo termina en “Y” y le antecede una consonante cambiamos la Y por I y agregamos
ES o sea “ies” Ej: Study : Studies – She studies english- Ella estudia ingles.
