1 Quick Admin overview
Large customers wish to delegate the telephony administration of their different sites to
different local administrators for a country, site or department. At the same time, in order to
reduce training costs, the companies want an easy to use administration tool that avoids
configuration errors and a need for a specific training.

Simple configuration changes may then be delegated to a local agent or to the helpdesk.

Cisco CallManager Multi Level Administration can restrict access to different administration
functions however there is no way to limit access to a specific site or zone. Cisco
CallManager provides a large number of APIs (AXL SOAP) that enable third party companies
like telisca to develop customer required solution as QuickAdmin.

Quick Admin offers administration solution for the most frequently used admin features:

Users,

IP Phones,
Device Profiles,
Lines
Speed dials
XML IP Phone service

Delegate administrators are able to administrate several zones to which they have been
entitled.

2 Super administration

Super administration interface is used to define:


- Administration zones,
- Authorized values et default values per zone,
- Admin profile (fields hidden and default values),
- Admin users (with zones and profile),
Zone are defined based on user’s field Departments and phone fields locations and/or device
pools.

3 Delegated administration interface

3.1 Authentication
Quick Admin admin interface is web based (thin client).

Authentication is based on CallManager login/password.

Delegate administrator can manage the zones that have been associated to him.

3.2 User administration


Delegate administrator can search, create, update and delete users in his administrative
zone.

He also can ‘see’ users which have been excluded from their current zone (due to a
department change for instance).

From the user edit form, the delegate adminsitrator can add or update an associated IP
Phone or device profile.

3.3 IP Phones administration


Delegate administrator can create, update and delete IP Phones in his administraive zone(s).

From a user he can associate an IP Phone by search non associated phones in the zone or
just installed IP Phone (which may have a specific Calling Search Space).

Depending of his admin profile,


delegate administrator may update
IP Phone fields. Only pre-defined
values for selected zone can be
used.

From this screen he can also create


speed dials and subscribe to IP
Phone Services.

When IP Phone is checked in


mobility mode, mobility IP Phone
service is automatically subscribed.

IP Phone description may be built


automatically from user fields as
defined in super administration.

3.4 User profiles administration

Delegate administrator can create


a device Profile associate to
current user to use in extension
mobility mode.

Mobility IP Phone service is


automatically subscribe to device
profile.

3.5 Lines administration


Delegate administrator may add one or several lines to current IP Phone or device profile.

Depending of his admin profile he may update different lines fields.


Alerting names and line labels may be built automatically from current user’s fields as defined
by super administrator.

When required, IP Phone is automatically restarted.

QuickAdmin is available in English and French.

QuickAdmin is supported on CUCM 4.2x, 5.1x, 6.1x, 7.x, 8.0x
