SAFE TRANSPORT OF CYLINDERS

T
ransporting cylinders is an operation that
involves a high risk. These should always be
transported vertically, properly secured,
preferably in open vehicles that are designed for such
purpose. The height on the vehicle cage must be of at
least two thirds (2/3) of the cylinder total height.

In case the cylinders transportation is carried out on

closed vehicles, it is necessary to make sure that the
gauges are completely closed and with the protector
cover on.

While transporting cylinders on vehicles, these should

be tied down in a way that these don’t move or fall.
The cylinders must be moved or lifted up one by one
and using the proper slings. Electromagnets or chains
must not be used.

To move a cylinder on short distances it is

recommended to use a manual car.

l transporte de cilindros es una operación que
representa un alto riesgo. Se deben transportar
siempre en posición vertical, bien asegurados en
vehículos de preferencia abiertos y debidamente
preparados para ello. La altura de la jaula del vehículo
debe ser como mínimo dos tercios (2/3) de la altura del
cilindro.

En caso que el transporte de cilindros sea en vehículos

cerrados, debe cerciorarse que la válvula esté
completamente cerrada y con la tapa protectora
puesta.

Cuando se transporta cilindros en vehículos se deben

amarrar de tal forma que no se muevan o se caigan.
Para mover o levantar los cilindros, se debe hacer de
uno en uno y amarrar con eslingas adecuadas. No se
deben usar electroimanes o cadenas.

Para desplazar un cilindro por distancias cortas se

recomienda el uso de un carrito manual.
