Usar correctamente el tiempo presente simple en situaciones reales de comunicación.

simple a través de la realización de las actividades y preguntas al docente.

En esta guía se desarrollarán diferentes actividades que facilitarán su aprendizaje del
idioma, la temática que vamos a desarrollar es un repaso del tiempo presente simple en
oraciones afirmativas, negativas e interrogativas con el fin de ponerlas en práctica en
contextos reales de comunicación. Recuerda que encontrarás con diferentes recursos y
con mi disposición permanente para orientarte y resolver algunas de tus dudas.

El “Present Simple”, también llamado simple present o present tense, es el tiempo

presente en inglés. Se utiliza para expresar hábitos y rutinas, hechos generales, acciones
repetidas o situaciones, emociones y deseos permanentes.

¿Cómo y cuándo usar el presente simple? Observe el siguiente video:

El "present simple" es el tiempo verbal más sencillo e importante de la lengua inglesa.

Ejemplo
Colin likes football. He is a forward. A forward tries to score goals for his team.
Colin plays football every Tuesday. His training starts at five o’clock. After
school Colin goes home, packs his bag, puts on his football shirt and then he
goes to football training. He has to take the bus. The bus leaves at half past
four.

En el ejemplo anterior puedes observar un texto corto de Colin, algunas de las actividades
que realiza en su vida cotidiana y hábitos que tiene. Las palabras que se encuentran
subrayadas son los verbos que tienen la conjugación del presente simple.
Esta conjugación puede variar dependiendo el sujeto, la letra final del verbo y si la oración
es afirmativa, negativa o interrogativa.

Es importante que recuerdes cuales son los sujetos de tercera persona: he, she, it. Estos
tendrán un trato diferente en la conjugación.

Veamos:

En las oraciones afirmativas, el verbo se mantiene invariable en infinitivo en todas

las personas excepto en la tercera persona singular, para la que es necesario añadir
una -s.

Ejemplo: LIVE= vivir

SUJETO VERBO SIGNIFICADO

I Live Yo vivo

You live Tu vives

He/ she / it Lives Él / ella / esto vive

We Live Nosotros vivimos

You Live Ustedes viven

They live Ellos viven

Para los verbos acabados en "-o","-sh", "-ch" , "-ss", "-x" , "-z", "-y" se añade "-es"
en lugar de "-s para la 3ª persona del singular".

VERBO TERCERA PERSONA SIGNIFICADO

To go He / she / it goes Él / ella / esto va

To wish He / she / it wishes Él / ella / esto desea

To reach He / she / it reaches Él / ella / esto alcanza

To express He / she / it expresses Él / ella / esto expresa

To fix He / she / it fixes Él / ella / esto arregla

To Kiss He / she / it kisses Él / ella / esto besa

To buzz He / she / it buzzes Él / ella / esto murmulla

Adicionalmente, los verbos acabados en "-y" precedidos de una consonante,

forman la tercera persona quitando la “y” y agregando "-ies".

VERBO TERCERA PERSONA SIGNIFICADO

To study He / she / it studies Él / ella / esto estudia

Pero cuidado, si la "-y" es precedida por una vocal, la tercera persona se forma con
una "-s" (desinencia estándar)

Para las oraciones interrogativas y negativas se usa un verbo auxiliar (Do/Does):

Existen preguntas que se denominan “WH-QUESTIONS”. Estas preguntas siempre nos
piden información.
Revisemos algunas de ellas y cómo se usan.

Patrick is a cowboy. He lives on a farm. He has a horse named Polo. Patrick loves Polo.

always have a good time. Polo is Patrick’s horse. It is light brown. its tail and mane are
dark brown. Polo is three years old and it lives in the stable by the house. Polo waits for

esta es la vida de Carlitos Wey, él es un joven de 20 años, vive en la ciudad de Buenos
Aires. Él es estudiante de la Universidad Católica de Buenos Aires, allí estudia ingeniería
biomédica él está en 6 semestre y Carlitos fuma weed (marihuana) todos los días. él se
despierta a las 6:00 Am y toma su celular, revisa el inicio de Facebook e Instagram, luego
se levanta de su cama para ir al baño y él se cepilla los dientes. Carlitos cada mañana

Carlitos desayuna a las 7 en punto, su comida favorita es fruta con jugo de naranja y
huevos con tocino sus clases virtuales comienzan a las 8 en punto, Carlitos fuma de su
pipa mientras está en sus clases, que finalizan a las 2 pm, almuerza y va al parque con
sus amigos a hacer ejercicio y fumarse unos porros más, vuelve a casa cada día a las
7:30 pm el revisa sus plantas y fuma un poco de wax en su bong antes de ir a cenar. fuma
en su cuarto con su chica al lado hasta quedarsen dormidos.

This is the life of Carlitos Wey, he is a young man of 20 years old, he lives in the city of
Buenos Aires. He is a student at the Catholic University of Buenos Aires, there he studies
biomedical engineering, he is in the sixth semester and Carlitos smokes weed (marijuana)
every day. he wakes up at 6 o'clock and picks up his cell phone, checks the Facebook and
