Dobbiamo ancora domandarci se un
oggetto di design può essere un oggetto
d’arte? Crediamo di no: sappiamo che
lo può essere. Dobbiamo però continuare
a domandarci.
Tutti i prodotti industriali sono Arte?
Crediamo di no.
E quali sono i requisiti in grado di operare
questa trasformazione?
E’ una trasformazione plausibile o è solo
il sogno vano di dare dignità artistica alle
merci, realizzazioni tipiche delle società
industriali, notoriamente poco artistiche?
Arte come attribuzione di bellezza
e senso (e anche non/senso).
Invenzione, folgorazione, creazione.
Emozione e comunicazione.
Arte e Creatività. Una mostra.
La libertà spontanea della creazione
insieme alla razionale laboriosità
produttiva. Un viaggio avventuroso
in un mondo sconosciuto e molteplice,
proteiforme. Nuove forme, macchine
meravigliose capaci di muovere i sogni,
scalini che salgono i cieli trascinando
desideri. Si parte e non sempre si ha
la percezione chiara di un percorso
ordinato che, a posteriori, è però
riscontrabile, e spesso collocabile dalla
parte del processo di un progressivo
avvicinamento ad un’immagine archetipa,
che forse abbiamo da tempo in qualche
parte profonda della nostra mente.

Installazioni che sfidano il presente e si
aprono al futuro, la nave che poi qualcun
altro porterà a visitare territori mai
percorsi, materiali da usare manipolare
progettare. Fatti non foste…
Should there still be a question as
to whether a design object can be a work
of art? We don’t think so: we know that
it can be true. However, it’s still important
to ask the question once in a while.
Can all industrial products be classified
as Art? Hardly. What characteristics have
the power to transform them into Art?
Is this transformation plausible or is it
just an idle dream of extending artistic
dignity to mere goods, typical products
of industrial companies which are
notoriously very un-artistic?
Art as a sign of beauty and meaning
(or lack thereof). Invention, intuition,
creation. Emotion and communication.
Art and Creativity. An exhibition.
The spontaneous freedom of creation
coupled with rational productive toil.
An adventurous journey through a
variegated, ever-changing, uncharted
world. New shapes, marvellous machines
that move dreams, ladders climbing
toward the heavens with wishes in tow.
The journey starts, but we’re not always
aware of an orderly course.
Only afterwards can we begin to see the
path, often identifiable as a part
of the progressive process in which we
attempt to emulate an archetypical image
hidden somewhere in the depths of our
consciousness.
ArpaArteDesign on display. Installations
that challenge the present and open up
to the future, a ship that someone else
will take to visit unseen lands, materials
to use - manipulate - design things with.
Arpa, industria leader nel settore dei

ha scelto La Triennale – spazio milanese
per eccellenza deputato al Design e
all’Arte – per presentare un evento
originale, una serie di installazioni
realizzate con prodotti Arpa. Con la
direzione di Castiglia associati – curatori
dell’evento e direttori artistici del brand –
nasce ArpaArteDesign.
Sette installazioni creative, sette
applicazioni inconsuete del laminato
su volumi e materiali diversi diventano
protagoniste assolute di un dialogo
aperto tra arte e design.
Una passerella cromatica lunga 30 metri
guida il pubblico alla scoperta del mondo
Arpa attraverso un percorso sensoriale
fatto di suoni, luci e colori. L’evento è
un’opportunità per conoscere il “laminato
Arpa”, per riflettere su applicazioni
non convenzionali ed apprezzarne il
forte valore evocativo. Valore che trae
ispirazione da precise aree tematiche:
l’ambiente metropolitano e quello
orientale, il nero puro e il bianco assoluto
sono alcune delle atmosfere protagoniste
delle creazioni in mostra.
L’avanzata tecnologia e l’elevata
sensibilità creativa di Arpa sono la
premessa per un evento che vuole fare
percepire la grande varietà espressiva
del laminato.

of HPL decorative laminates, has chosen
La Triennale - Milan’s most prestigious
exposition area for Art and Design -
to present an original event, a series
of installations featuring Arpa products.
Under the management of Castiglia
Associati, as curators of the event
and artistic directors of the brand,
ArpaArteDesign.
Seven creative installations, seven
unusual applications of laminates on
different materials and volumes will take
centre stage in an open dialogue between
Art and Design.
A chromatic catwalk 30 metres long will
guide visitors in their exploration of the
world of Arpa along a sensorial path of
lights, sounds and colours. The event
is an opportunity to learn about “Arpa
laminates”, to think about unconventional
applications and to appreciate their
strong evocative power.
A value that is inspired by specific
themes: the urban and Oriental
environments, pure black and absolute
white are a few of the atmospheres
featured in the creations on display.
Advanced technology and Arpa’s
extended creative sensitivity are the
foundation for an event focused on
communicating the broad expressive
approach of laminate.

Come un mattino d’aprile

sul ghiacciaio, come
la luce che attraversa,
rimbalza, danza, si riflette,
lontano, luna che riposa.
Come il sogno di un gioco
di bimba. La dolcezza
è qualcosa di sospeso,
trasparente come te.
Cerchi in plexiglass
trasparente spessore
20 mm con applicazione
di laminati avorio/rosa/
madreperla. Gli elementi
ad incastro formano
alcune sfere in diverse
dimensioni.

Like an April morning on

a glacier; like light that
pierces, bounces and
dances, reflecting the
sleepy faraway moon.
Like dreaming of a little
girl’s favourite game.
Sweetness is something
delicate, transparent
like you.
Transparent Plexiglas

E’ la natura il principale
codice espressivo.
Le forme, i materiali,
i colori. Il profumo di
legno, la delicatezza
di tocco di un tessuto,
i colori di un prato in

E’ il buio più profondo

deepest dark that
nevertheless comes in
a thousand different
shades. All we need
to do is recognise
them, immersed in a
never-ending night that
enchants and envelopes
us in deepness.

multicolor, da cui ci si

della modernità.
Dove tutto è immaginabile.
La linea del cielo,
all’orizzonte, interrotta
da figure squadrate,
regolari.
