Since of the increase of interest on unconventional resources, a main issue is

to identify organically rich rocks by estimating Total Organic Carbon (TOC).
And this can be achieved in a continuous way taking advantage of the
Descripció conventional well logs of a exploratory well. The "Δ Log R" method was
n del PLAN applied to identify the well organically rich intervals, which analyzes the
DE combined responses of the sonic and resistivity well logs through a
PROYECTO logarithmic difference. The second method uses gamma ray and resistivity
logs. These methods allowed to estimate the TOC in the Abejas 1X well in a
cost-effective way. The present study shows that through practical methods
it can be found new exploration opportunities in the Huasimal and Muerto
Formations
