Indian Rare Earths Limited (IREL) a Public Sector Undertaking under the administrative control of the
Department of Atomic Energy is the industry leader in the area of Beach Sand Minerals like illmenite, rutile
(titanium ores), zircon, monazite, sillimanite, etc., and producer of rare earths (Lanthanides) chemicals,
thorium nitrate etc. The Company requires proactive professionals for the following positions in its
Corporate Office at Mumbai & its Units located in Kerala, Tamil Nadu & Orissa.

QUALIFICATION/JOB REQUIREMENT/EXPERIENCE
1. Dy. General Manager (Finance)/Sr. Manager (Finance)
Qualification : ACA / AICWA
Experience: The candidate must have 15/12 years of post qualification experience
in a PSU/ Large Private Sector Organisation.

2. Manager (Finance/Audit)/Dy. Manager (Finance/Audit)


Qualification : ACA / AICWA
Experience: The candidate must have 9/6 years of Post qualification experience in a
PSU/Large Pvt. Sector Organization.

Job Profile for Sl.No.1&2:

Accounts finalization in compliance with all statutory requirements, Treasury


management that includes investment of surplus funds, negotiation with banks/Financial
institutions for fund based/non-fund based facilities, Internal Audit, Corporate taxation,
Indirect taxes, Costing, Budgeting, Dealing with various auditors, MIS, Forex
management.

3. Dy. General Manager (HRM)/Sr. Manager (HRM):

Qualification :

Post graduate degree/post graduate diploma/MBA/MA/MSW (2 years full time course)


with specialization in Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, Industrial
relations from reputed and recognized universities/institutions by AICTE.
Degree in Law is desirable

Experience : The candidate must have 15/12 years of post qualification experience in a
PSU/Large Private Sector Organisation.

Job Profile:

IR, talent search, strategic HR management, performance management, exposure to


Manpower Planning and HRD systems, disciplinary actions, corporate social
responsibilities, RTI matter, General Administration, Liaison with Govt. agencies for
statutory compliance etc., in reputed public/private sector companies.
Working knowledge of Malayalam/ Tamil/Oriya/Hindi is desirable.

4. Manager (HRM)/Dy. Manager (HRM)

Qualification :

Post graduate degree/post graduate diploma/MBA/MA/MSW (2 years full time


management course) with specialization in Human Resource Management, Personnel
Management and Industrial relations from reputed and recognized
universities/institutions by AICTE.

Experience : Candidate must have 9/6 years of post qualification experience in


a PSU/large Private Sector Organisation.

Post qualification relevant work experience in handling HR issues – Systems &


Procedures, Performance Management System, Disciplinary Actions, Compensation
Packages and Industrial Relations, RTI Matters.

Working knowledge of Malayalam/Tamil/Oriya/Hindi desirable.

Job Profile :

The incumbent will be required to handle HR Systems & Procedures, Role Profiling,
Competency Mapping, Performance Management, Compensation packages, Employee
Relations, Training & Development, handling HR issues, labour legislations, wage
negotiations, RTI Matters, disciplinary matters, conciliations and labour matters,
welfare matters, CSR and Administration. Exposure to computerized environment is
desirable.

5. Manager (Security)/Dy.Manager (Security) :

For the post of Manager (Security):

Should be a Graduate and commissioned Officer not below the rank of a Captain (in
Indian Army) or equivalent working/retired from Indian Defence Services.

OR should be a graduate and not below the rank of Dy. Commandant or equivalent in
Para Military Services viz., CISF, CRPF, BSF.

Upper age limit : 45 years, including relaxation for Ex-Serviceman.

Dy. Manager (Security):

For the post of Dy. Manager (Security):

Should be a Graduate and not below the rank of a Lieutenant or equivalent


working/retired from Indian Defence Services

OR should be a graduate and not below the rank of Asst. Commandant or equivalent in
Para Military Services viz. CISF, CRPF, BSF.

Upper age limit : 43 years, including relaxation for Ex-Serviceman.

 The upper age limit for Manager (Security)/ Dy. Manager (Security) is inclusive of
age relaxation for Ex-servicemen.
 Working knowledge of Oriya/Hindi for posting at Orissa and Tamil/Malayalam for
posting at Tamil Nadu/Kerala is highly desirable.

Place of posting:

The successful candidate will be posted at IREL-OSCOM Unit, Chatrapur, Dist. Ganjam,
Orissa and at IREL-Manavalakurichi Plant, Dist. Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. However, the
company reserves the right to transfer subsequently to other units of IREL depending on
necessity.

6. Dy. Manager (Marketing)

Qualification:

Engineering degree with two years Post Graduate Degree / Post Graduate Diploma or
MBA with first class from a recognized university or an Institute approved/accredited by
AICTE with specialization in Marketing Management / International Business
Management / Strategic Sales Management.

Experience:

Should have atleast 6 years working experience with the following functions :

Market research w.r.t. to minerals with marketing intelligence quotient.


Processing of order including co-ordination from order receiving till shipment.
Documentation of exports such as preparation of contract with overseas buyer.
Co-ordination with customers and stevedores including preparation of contract with
stevedores, surveyor and shipping Company.
Co-ordination with port authorities preparation of dispatches/ demurrage Claims
co-ordination with customer.
Co-ordination with bank regarding foreign inward remittance to filing of shipping
documents.
Knowledge about excise, taxation and other statutory requirement.
MIS for various reporting system including inspection records.

Should have the attribute of flexibility, adaptability, market research quotient and
customer service orientation.

7. Sr. Officers for Marketing, Purchase & Materials Management Departments

Qualification:

Engineering degree with two years Post Graduate Degree/Post Graduate Diploma or
M.B.A. from a recognized university or an Institute approved by AICTE with specialization
in any one or more of the following subjects.

a) Marketing Management / International Business Management/ Strategic Sales


Management
b) Materials Management

Experience:

Should have at least three years working experience with exposure in Marketing or Sales,
Purchase or Materials Management or any other commercial activities (like
procurement/material handling etc.). Candidates with additional experience in the
technical fields will be preferred. Working experience after completion of the technical
qualification and before MBA study if any will also be considered for the purpose of
experience.

Candidates should have working knowledge of any one or more of the following
languages:

Hindi/Malayalam/Tamil/Oriya.

8. Sr. Engineers for Project Management

Qualification:

Full time Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology with 65% Marks or equivalent
CGPA from a recognized university or an Institute approved by AICTE in any one of the
following discipline:

Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, Mineral, Mining.

Experience:

3 years post qualification experience in Project Management.

Candidates should have working knowledge of any one or more of the following
languages:

Hindi/Malayalam/Tamil/Oriya

9. Assistant Manager (Mines)

Qualification :

Degree in Mining Engineering with 2nd Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency or
Diploma in Mining Engineering with 2nd Class Mine Manager’s Certificate of Competency.

Experience :

Degree holders : 1 year post qualification experience in a reputed Mine


Diploma holders : 3 years post qualification experience in a reputed Mine

Place of posting:

The successful candidate will be posted at Mineral Division, Chavara, District-Kollam,


Kerala. However, the company reserves the right to transfer subsequently to other units
of IREL depending on necessity.

10. Medical Officer (Female only)

M.B.B.S. from a recognized University approved by Medical Council of India with


minimum 2 years of Post qualification experience after Internship.

Preference will be given to candidates having Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial


Health/Associate Fellow of Industrial Health from Central Labour Institute or other
recognized institutes of India.

Candidates should have working knowledge of any one or more of the following
languages:

Malayalam/Tamil/Oriya/Hindi

Place of posting:

The successful candidates will be posted at IREL- Rare Earths Division, Udyogamandal,
Aluva/Minerals Division, Chavara, Dist. Kollam at Kerala and IREL-OSCOM, Chatrapur,
Dist. Ganjam, Orissa. However, the company reserves the right to transfer subsequently
to other units of IREL depending on necessity.

11. Management Trainee (Finance)

Qualification : CA (candidate should have completed required article ship)


or ICWA

12. Management Trainee (HRM)

Post-Graduate Degree/Diploma in PM&IR/MSW/MBA (Full time course) with specialization


in HR from a premier Institute/University with minimum 60% marks in aggregate.

Candidates should have working knowledge of any one or more of the following
languages:

Hindi/Malayalam/Tamil/Oriya

ALLOWANCES AND BENEFITS:

In addition to Basic Pay, DA @ 39.08% of Basic Pay, HRA (30% of Basic Pay at Mumbai, 20% of
Basic Pay at Aluva and 10% of Basic Pay at Other Units), (Non-practicing Allowance @ 15% of
Basic Pay and DA, in the case of Medical Officer), Perks and Allowances such as Conveyance
Allowance, Professional Development Allowance, Uniform Up-keeping allowance, Festival
Allowance, Reimbursement of cost of medicine for Domiciliary treatment, Leave Travel Allowance,
etc., will be paid and benefits such as EPF, Gratuity, Superannuation contribution, Medical
Assistance, Group Insurance, Post-retirement medical scheme, Performance Related Pay (PRP),
Casual Leave, Half Pay Leave and Earned Leave etc. are also admissible as per rules of the
Company.

The selected candidates for the posts at Sl. No.11 & 12 will be appointed as Management
Trainees (MTs) Finance & HRM for a period of one year. During the training period they will
draw a monthly stipend of Rs.16,400/- plus other allowances. The gross minimum monthly
emoluments of MT posted at our units will be Rs.24,500/- p.m. approximately. On successful
completion of the training period MTs will be absorbed in the grade of officer in the scale of pay
of Rs.16400-40500 and will be eligible for other allowances and benefits as applicable to officers.

RESERVATION / RELAXATION & CONCESSIONS:

Reservation/Concessions for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC-NCL/XSM & PwD categories


would be made as per Government Directives.

 Upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years in respect of SC/ST candidates. Upper age limit is
relaxable by 3 years in respect of OBC-NCL Candidates, provided a recently obtained
certificate (issued on or after 01.04.2010) of not belonging to the “Creamy layer” in the
format prescribed by the Govt. of India, from a Competent Authority is produced by the
candidates at the time of interview.

 In respect of Persons with Disabilities (PwDs), upper age limit is relaxable by 5 years,
which will be over and above the relaxation admissible for candidates belonging to
SC/ST/OBC-NCL.

 Relaxation will be extended as per rules in respect of Ex-Servicemen /Commissioned


Officers/ECOs/SSCOs who have rendered at least 5 years of Defence Service and have
been released on completion of assignment.

GENERAL CONDITIONS:

1. Only Indian Nationals need to apply. Mere submission of application will not entail right
for claiming Appointment.

2. Age and experience are to be counted as on 31.10.2010.

3. Candidates from Government Depts / Semi Government/PSUs must forward their


applications through proper channel or they should produce NOC at the time of
interview otherwise they will be treated to have agreed to forego the benefits of carry
forward of gratuity, leave salary and any future benefit for past service etc.

4. In order to regulate the number of candidates to be called for the test and/or interview, if
so required, the Management reserves the right to raise the minimum eligibility
standards/criteria, OR to relax the minimum eligibility standards/criteria including age
limit in otherwise suitable candidates depending upon the response to the advertised
posts.

5. Merely meeting the above qualifications and experience shall not entitle a candidate to be
called for interview. Only short-listed candidates will be notified for Test and/or
interview..

6. Depending on the requirements, the Company reserves the right to cancel/curtail/increase


the number of posts without any further notice and without assigning any reason
thereof.

7. Out of the total post qualification experience mentioned against each position, candidates
are required to possess a minimum of 2 years experience in the next below scale/ level in
IDA Pay Scale or equivalent level as on 31.10.2010 for all the post except the post at
Sl. No.5, 9, 10, 11 & 12.

8. All the above conditions of qualification, experience, age limit etc. are applicable to

d) A demand draft in favour of Indian Rare Earths Limited payable at Mumbai for the value
of Rs.250/- for the post of Management Trainees is required along with the application
form as application fee. The candidates belonging to SCs/STs/OBCs/Ex-servicemen &
Persons with disabilities, women candidates are exempted from the payment of
application fees.

e) All instructions as given on the IREL website must be adhered to, failing which, the
applicant will be disqualified for the post.

f) Name of the post applied for, should be superscribed on the envelope containing the

g) The application should contain one recent passport size photograph pasted on the form,
self-attested copy of proof of age, caste certificate in the prescribed format as applicable,
