CheckList
PlayStation CheckList
DaddaRuleKonge.com
These pages consist of checklists on, if not all, then most, PlayStation games, from the European PAL releases,
to the North American NTSC releases, as well as the Asian NTSC-J releases. The pages goes from NTSC,
PAL, NTSC-J, and DEMO.
Pages are made up with the name of the game. Names are often cut down, due to size, so titles may often be
missing words.
The language show what language the game feature, [E] is English, [S] is Spanish, etc. If a + sign is featured,
that means that the game feature more languages than is written, but cut down due to size.
Game ID, are the ID code for the game. For the North American and European releases, the ID code are usu-
ally the same for the different releases on each games, like platinium, best of, etc. This is not the case for the
Japanese releases though, nor many of the different region releases for the PAL games. The ID code can be
found on the CD, manual and case. An example for the North American release is SLUS-00914.
“Pg” means pages, on what page information on the game is on. On PAL and NTSC releases, names of the title
may differ. If it says a page number, but the title on that page is incorrect, then it may be under a different title.
“C”, “I”, “B”, and “S”, are the checklist for readers to cross out what they own. “C” is the game, or CD. “I” is
information/manual, and “B” is the box or case. “S” are for sealed collectors, so they can cross it out if they
have a sealed game.
The PlayStation releases in North America and Europe had a few different releases on the games, like plati-
nium, longbox, etc. that is sorted in different checklists. The Japanese though, had several different rerelease
series. The biggest series I sorted into own checklists, but some of the smaller series I just pushed into one-
checklist. The first checklist on each region, comes without an introduction, and is just the regular release.
These pages consist of DEMO CDs released for the PlayStation. The games are arranged in NTSC, PAL, and
NTSC-J and sorted by name. The lists is VERY uncomplete. I have used www.sonyindex.com for information.
The Demo`s were acquired at retail, through special offer, trade shows, and magazines. When PlayStation was
released in North America and Europe, it usually came with a single Demo CD, featuring a few trial games,
videos and tech-demos.
All three Demo lists have some space at the end of the list for readers to write in demos they own and that I
have not managed to write in for some mong reason.

CONTENT
The book is made up by four parts because of the lulu printing limit and the useless inDesign program
and it`s constant crashes. The pagenumbers are consistent and works as the books was a complete set,
this is because the pagenumbers are set, and I would have to change every pagenumber on the checklist.
The pagenumbers on the checklist volume are different though.

Greatest Hits are video games for the North American Sony PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and
PlayStation Portable consoles that have been officially re-released at a lower price by Sony.
Greatest Hits titles are colloquially referred to as “green label”. This refers to the colored band that is added
to the packaging to differentiate it from regular releases (which are similarly referred to as “black label”). A
game can earn this distinction if it meets certain sales criteria within two years after its release. The original
versions of the game (often referred to as “black label”) are often sought after as collectables. There are also
“White label” games, which are collector’s editions. These mainly are “collections”, having all the games in
a series in one box.
When Sony introduced the program for PlayStation in 1997, games could become Greatest Hits titles after
selling at least 150,000 copies and being on the market for at least a year. Minimum sales required eventually
rose to 250,000. Though Sony-developed games are virtually guaranteed to eventually become Greatest Hits
titles by meeting their sales and age requirements, 3rd party developers are not required to release their titles
with a Greatest Hits label even if said titles meet the criteria. Additionally, Sony allows 3rd party develop-
ers some flexibility in the pricing of their own Greatest Hits titles, but most of them stick to the agreed-upon
suggested retail price. Games that are multi-million sellers may become Greatest Hits titles much later than 9
months to maximize profits. It is also a common practice for a game to re-release on the Greatest Hits label at
a close proximity to the release of that game’s sequel or follow-up.
While Greatest Hits titles are usually just a re-release of the original game with altered packaging and a lower
price, occasionally a game is given a “special edition” of its original version, released under the Greatest Hits
label. Usually these additions are small bonuses, such as the inclusion of bugfixes, new game demos or sound-
track CDs, or slight improvements such as adding analog control or vibration functionality to games that did
not have these features in their original releases. Occasionally, significant changes are implemented into the
game. Noteworthy examples of this are the Greatest Hits special editions of Jet Moto 2 and Spyro: Year of the
Dragon, which were enhanced significantly from their original releases with added characters, levels, modes,
features, etc.
These last bars have been intentionally left blank, cause` im sure there are more
“Greatest Hits” games I (and Wikipedia) have missed.

Compilation Pack
During the last few years of the PlayStation’s life, Sony went from the green labeled “Greatest Hits” logo to a
new strategy; Collector’s Editions.
The collection Editions came boxed in a cardboard sleeve, redone in special CE packaging. Each set would
contain three jewel cased games that all adhered to a theme. Some were sequel based, some were genre based,
and some just stuck with a license.

Lightspan
Lightspan Adventures is a software collection of educational video games for the original Playstation system.
Several elementary schools, used the software package along with Teacher “textbook” guides and tests. These
were fairly popular in the early 2000s in suburban public schools. The graphics are pretty basic, but the lessons
were are fairly comparable with typical elementary school cirriculum.
The games came in sleeves inside of a cardboard box sorted by tab dividers. The rarity on some of this games
are high, but the value is low due to uninterest by the public and collectors.
Variant Discussion
“game-rave.com”
Collecting variants for the Lightspan catalog is a nightmare like no other variant nightmare one can imagine.
There are disc variants, manual variants that don’t match up to anything, and now there are actual publisher
variants thanks to the discovery of Plato branded games.
For information on the different variants on the Lightspan Adventure games, please visit game-rave.com for
a, more or less, complete list.

Essentials is the Sony PlayStation budget range in the PAL region, which covers Europe, the Middle East,
Asia-Pacific and Africa. It was launched in January 1997 as the Platinum range but was later renamed for PSP
in 2010 and PlayStation 3 in 2012.
Platinum Range titles were recognisable by a platinum/silver coloured band on the game’s casing. This band
runs along the top of the case’s front. PlayStation and PlayStation 2 platinum game discs do not feature any
of the original game disc’s design, it is replaced with a simple silver design, which, along with the copyright
notices around the edges, feature the game’s name in the center surrounded by a black outline.
To become a Platinum release it was required that a game have over 400,000 total worldwide sales after gen-
erally one year on the market (PAL region sales in particular; games that sell over 400,000 units in another
region alone, such as Japan or the U.S., do not necessarily qualify for a Platinum title).
After reaching the required level of sales, Sony often dropped the prices of the original title to Platinum pric-
ing levels (generally about half of the original retail price), as a way to clear inventory for retailers.
Compilation Pack
This is a list on the compilation packs released for the PAL system. I am sure the list is incomplete though.
King Size
Reprints
This list consist of rereleases or reprints and are not part of a special series. The reprints sometimes came with
updated software, like removal of bugs among other things. The games are included here because of the dif-
ferent Game-ID.

NTSC-J Limited/Special Editions • 200
Limited/Special Edition
This checklist are on the limited editions and special editions. I have included other special editions here also,
though some may be spread on to the “other rereleases” checklist further down on the pages. Limited Edition
often included bigger boxes with other collectable extras. Also included on this list are versions that includes
hardware like different controllers, etc.
Included here are also The Square Millennium Collection, a series of re-released games in Japan for the Play-
Station. Square gathered some of their biggest titles and packaged them in a bigger box alongside lots of col-
lectible extras (such as wrist watches, tea sets and more).
PSone Books are part of “The Best” releases, a budget range in Japan and parts of Asia. PSone Books took
over for The Best series when the PSone was released in 2000. These games were top selling popular titles
that were made available again in a low-priced version under this new label. Games released under the PSone
Books label did not come in standard jewel cases like other PlayStation games, but instead came packaged in
slim jewel cases. The games’ instruction booklets were typically placed outside of the case, with both booklet
and cased sealed in plastic packaging. The software contained on the discs was usually the original retail game,
however bug fixes were applied for a few titles. PSone Books titles were still being released until late 2006.

Launched in July of 1996, PlayStation the Best is the Japanese equivalent of the Greatest Hits and Platinum
lines, offering bestselling titles at a reduced price in distinct yellow and white packaging. This group also in-
cludes the related PlayStation the Best for Family line, which features more family-oriented titles.
The brand continued on later consoles as PlayStation 2 the Best and PlayStation 3 the Best, and was also sup-
ported by the PS one Books series which offered select titles at an even lower price.
Some titles may be spread out on the “other releases” pages.
D3Publisher’s successful line of Japanese PlayStation budget releases, usually named something like “THE
xxxx”. Though most games are original creations, some of them are budget re-releases of previous full-price
games, with a new “THE xxxx” name.
Several of them saw release in the US and EU under different names, most of them fairly late in the Playsta-
tion’s life cycle.
Two complementary lines of releases were available alongside the main one. These were:
Simple 1500 Series Hello Kitty, which only contained licensed games featuring the Sanrio mascot. Four
games were released under this label.
Simple 1500 Jitsuyou Series, which was a “utility” series label featuring non-games such as feng shui for the
home, tarot fortune telling and more. There were 18 releases made under this label.
Not to be confused with the SuperLite 1500 releases, and the more recent Simple 2000 series, which only
consists of PlayStation 2 games.
“mobygames.com”
The SuperLite 1500 releases is a series for Success’s popular line of Japanese budget releases. Though many
SuperLite games are original creations, many of them are budget re-releases of previous full-price games at a
reduced price.
Not to be confused with the Simple 1500 series.
Major Wave Series is a series of low-cost releases on the PlayStation released by Hamster. Most games where
rereleases, though some where original releases also.
Other Releases
These entries include the rest of the different Japanese PlayStation series released. I didn`t sort the games in
different lists cause most of the series were rather small.
Different developers often rereleased their games in their own series, like Capcom and the serie Capkore, or
Taito and Taito the Best.
Missing Games
These games consist of games on the Playstation Datacenter site i used as a Master for the checklist. I found
no information on these games, so I pressume they are either planned releases that never got made, or I just
suck at information gathering. The checklist is included just for the sake of the last remark.
This list consist on (hopefully) most of the Demo CDs released for the NTSC PlayStation. The “Version” bar
are extra information on what kind of Demo it is.
Some noteworthy demos are the X-360 Demo. A promotional item giv-
en away at the Electronic Entertainment Expo in 1998. It feature two
simple demos that demonstrate the sound capabilities of the PlaySta-
tion. Another is the Hear it Now, Play it Later Demo Disc. It featured as
both a music CD and a demo CD for PlayStation.
The European Demo list is incomplete. I used the web site: crimson-ceremony.net/
demopals/index.php for information, as such, the list is sorted after Game-ID in-
stead of name. The web site is a great tool for anyone interested in the PAL versions
of PlayStation Demos, as they include much information, along with pictures for
the Demos. Also included on the site are information on the PS2 Demos. The site
also include Demo variations, something I have not done on this list.
The Demo/Demo 1 released with most of the original PlayStation, came in several
different variants, depending on the release date.
The Official PlayStation magazine were released in several different regions, and
therfore, several different or somewhat different Demo`s.
Another PlayStation magazine was the Essential PlayStation, released in the U.K.
The magazine was a spin-off from OPM UK.
As with both the PAL and NTSC systems, the Japanese NTSC-J also
had their share of DEMO`s. Including trial games packaged with regu-
lar games and DEMO discs found in the numerous different PlaySta-
tion magazines released.
One of the more famous PLayStation magazines is Dengeki PlaySta-
tion, a Japanese gaming magazine published by ASCII Media Works.
The magazine originally featured information pertaining to PlayStation
video games, but since then has also incorporated information from
PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Portable games. The
magazine first went on sale in December 1994 as a special edition ver-
sion of Dengeki G’s Magazine.
