Opinions diverge greatly on what period of one’s life is the happiest.

While many hold

that the years when people are teenagers are a period with the most memorable and
happiest events, others aver that the life of an adult brings more satisfaction despite
shouldering more responsibilities. While both schools of thought would be justifiable, I
would tend to gravitate towards the former since people can only lead a carefree lifestyle
during their teenage years.
On the one hand, there are two compelling reasons as to people's belief that they could
gain more pleasure when being an adult. To commence, as people reach the age of
twenty-eight or thirty, they could have a job and live independently, which means that
they may have more freedom. As a result, adults can do whatever they want or try
everything that was once forbidden by their parents, from which they could derive great
pleasure, as having opportunities to do something that one has never done seems to be
unforgettable events during the course of one’s life. Second, when one becomes an adult,
he or she can pursue the dream that being a child may not allow him or her to do. Take
the dream of becoming a restaurant owner as an illustration. It seems to be unequivocal
that children who entertain the hope of owning a restaurant might not fulfill their
ambition due to a lack of experience and financial support. However, these future adults
could enroll in a top-tier university to acquire knowledge related to restaurant
management and borrow money from banks or their relatives to construct their
restaurants. The moment they see everything finished might be minutes that they can
never forget.
On the other hand, I would opine that the period when people are adolescents can be the
happiest times of almost every person’s life. First, during this period, teenagers may not
have to worry about how to earn money to buy food, a task which most adults have to
cope with every day, because their parents are those who do it. Furthermore, throughout
the school years, there could be a lot of trips with their class of which teenagers may still
have a vivid recollection when they are older because these would be trips that
adolescents may have no worry about the financial problem and express themselves
freely with their classmates. This kind of experience seems to stand in stark contrast with
adults’ when they would have to consider their budget when traveling, hence not being
able to enjoy their trips as thoroughly as teenagers.
In conclusion, adult life could bring happiness as being grown-up allows people to
achieve their goals set when they were young and to do what they want. However, I
would reaffirm that people may feel the most fulfilled during the teenage years since they
could live a life of no worries.
