Workshop Overview
This comprehensive 4-day program has been designed based on SMRP Book of Knowledge to benefit both
new professionals and experienced professionals. It covers advanced best maintenance practices that a
qualified professional would require to carry out his duty starting with the first steps and building up knowledge
and experience to a fully functional maintenance organization.

Focus is directed on concepts of maintenance and reliability management, Root Cause Analysis, and
establishing a healthy maintenance program. The program focuses on various aspects of analytical
techniques which have proved valuable in maintenance planning and scheduling. We also cover the
Human Factor from many sides.

This program is designed to transfer knowledge and to be a stimulating experience. It is highly interactive
with many discussions, group activities and case studies. Participants can share examples from their own
experience based on the new methodologies and work in teams with other participants to locate problems
and develop actions for improvement.

The Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional test on the fourth day of this workshop is based on
accumulated personal experience and not based on a specific syllabus, by going beyond textbook

MOATAZ GOMAA is currently an independent Technical Consultant and Trainer. With almost twenty
five years of solid experience in Technical Management, Training and Project Management of major
multinational projects, wide knowledge base in Information Technology, Industrial Automation, Staff
Management and other related fields, Moataz provides an integrated, stimulating training arena
that enhances individual learning styles.

He is specialized in providing Technical Management consultancy and training such as reliability

centered maintenance, root cause analysis and soft skills courses with more focus on technical
professions. Through a combination of technical and management backgrounds, his courses can
be customized and tuned to fulfill the needs of technical and/or non-technical professions. He has
obtained the Dale Carnegie “Art of Training” TOT certificate which shapes the delivery methodology
to be interactive and trainee-centered. Moataz is also currently in the process of acquiring Black
Belt Six Sigma certification.

He started his career as a Technical Engineer in IBM focusing on Sales and Customer Service and
rapidly moved positions until he became a District Manager, where his Managing Skills fully emerged;
his responsibilities included coaching and mentoring employees, training and developing new staff
on technical and soft skills, monitoring performance development, heading projects, developing
and designing functional and operational manuals while supporting a large sales team and ensuring
excellent customer service was provided at all times.

Moataz then worked with a multi-national technology and consulting corporation as a Technical
Manager and at the same time as a Trainer and Consultant, specialising in technical programmes
such as TPM (Total Productive Maintenance), outsourcing and contracting, root cause analysis,
computerised maintenance management systems basics and evaluation – CMMS , technical
report writing, technical documentation and Microsoft office applications.

His training and consulting projects covered a wide spectrum of businesses in Government,
Petrochemicals, Manufacturing, Telecommunication, Utilities, Facility Management and others. He
is fully bilingual (Arabic/English) and totally capable of dealing with all nationalities to create the
team-work environment that is essentially a core element of success to any organisation.

Apart from that, he has provided consultancy in Industrial Automation and Maintenance
Management in terms of assessing training needs and organization for training sessions, maintenance
and operations of KPI development, implementation and analysis, performed root cause analysis
