DIFRACCIÓN
(DIFFRACTION)
OBJECTIVE
Study the DIFFRACTION phenomena.
(Estudiar el fenómeno de la Difracción).
THEORY (TEORÍA)
The Diffraction phenomena occurs when a wave,
of any type, encounters an obstacle or a slit. It
is defined as the bending of waves around the
corners of an obstacle or through an aperture into
the region of geometrical shadow of the
obstacle/aperture. The aperture (slit) or the
diffracting object becomes a secondary source of
the propagating wave. Francisco Maria Grimaldi was
the first scientist who reported and coined the
name "diffraction" in 1660 (Figura A ).
Laboratorio de Óptica
A Diffracting Grating is an optical component with a periodic structure that
splits and difracts light into several beams travelling in different
directions. The diferent directions of these beams depend on the spacing of the
grating and the wavelength of the light so that the grating acts as the
dispersive element.
elemento dispersivo).

In this experience you will use a CD as a grating Difrraction (En esta

5. Measure all bright zones making marks with your pencil in order to
detect the Radiation Intensity vs. Distance (Mida todas las zonas
You must obtain something
like that.
