In this issue of School Life, Richard Vega is talking
to university students.
Richard: Lisa is drinking a soda and talking to
some friends in the cafeteria now. Hi, Lisa,
thanks for talking to me.
Lisa: It’s my pleasure
Richard: Please, tell us a little about yourself.
Lisa: I’m a senior, and I’m majoring in computer
science.
Richard: What classes are you taking this
semester?
Lisa: Three computer science classes, Spanish and
Chinese. I like languages. Spanish is my favorite
language. It’s difficult, though.
Richard: That sounds interesting. Why are you
studying Spanish?
Lisa: Well, my father is from Peru, and he’s
helping me.
Richard: What about Chinese?
Lisa: My best friend is from China so I can practice
with her.
Richard: Wow! How are you doing in your
classes?
Lisa: I’m doing very well in my computer classes.
I’m getting A's. I’m not doing so well in Chinese,
however.
Richard: Maybe you need more practice with
your friend. Well, thanks again for your time.
Where is Lisa?
He's doing it for fun.
Who’s helping her with Chinese?
My best friend is from China so I can practice
with her.

Hello everyone! My name is Rosalyn Monroe. I
am twenty- six years old. I live with my husband,
Jim. We live in San Francisco. We don’t have
children. My parents live in San Diego, and my
husband's parents live in Washington. I have one
sister and one brother. My sister is single. She's
twenty-two years old. My brother is married to a
great woman named Katherine. They have a
daughter, Maggie.
