1. There is no choice in questions. You are supposed to attempt all of them.
2. Each question carries 10 Marks. Therefore, this Final Exam is of 40 Marks.
3. Answer each question in 200-250 words.
4. The response should be in your own words. The answers copied from the internet and other sources will
cause marks deduction.

5.2 Size of the font should be 12.
5.3 Apply double spacing in your answers.
5.4 Answer sheet should be in Word Format. PDFs will not be accepted.

1. “The greed of power, authority and wealth always caused one nation to control other
nations of the world.” Do you agree or disagree with the statement? Argue in context of
Geographical discoveries and Colonialism.
ANSWER:
Colonialism takes numerous structures, yet the causes appear to same: status, power, religion,

and most of all greed. Always the greed was the main aspect. Colonialism was always done due

to conflicts between two nation and group of different religion, it takes extraordinary amounts of

greed to travel to another land to kill, injure, overcome, and even enslave another people. I’m

truly agreed with the statement mentioned above that it was always the greed which causes the

colonialism do be done. If we have a look back to 15th century we will get to know that how

Europeans did colonialism while they were travelling around the Africa, and how Europeans

were greedy that they wanted to overcome other lands and steal natural resources from the

countries they colonies it from. The religion colonialism was also the part of Age of discovery,

as Christianity was so important to European culture during that age. So they do their best to

spread the teaching of their religion. So as it is clear that how one nation colonies other nation

due to the greed of their economy, religion and glory. And also the believed in the need to spread

their religion.

2. “The progress of human society always depended on cognitive and intellectual


progress”. Analyze the statement in context of Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment.

ANSWER:

The human society had always depended accordingly to theory and fact that relate with their

cognitive and intellectual after the Scientific Revolution and Enlightenment was established,

before that people do believe in blind faith and act accordingly to their ancestor’s acts. They
were against the scientific theory and hypothesis and people do also were against them as they

were in fear that if they act against the word of bible they may get in fire of hell.

During the 15th century there was an intellectual movement that focused on science and

reasoning over superstition and blind faith. They believed in challenging the existing traditions

religion views. Enlightenment was considered a huge turning point and it was thought that it had

brought light to the civilization where human society act accordingly to their intellectual

reasoning people become more rational. So the Scientific revolution era have almost shifted the

mind set of people from religion to power of reasoning. It’s most radical impact is separating

science from religion.

3. “The conflict and rivalry between nations usually end up in altering the socio-political
order of the stakeholder societies”. Analyze the statement in context of WWI and
WWII.
