Ejemplo
The bank is across the street from the saloon.

El banco está al otro lado de la calle desde el bar.

Across se utiliza para expresar que algo o alguien está al
otro lado de una calle, carretera, río, mesa...

My sister is at the hospital.

Mi hermana está en el hospital.
En este caso la chica está de visita en el hospital.

In front of
En frente de
Ésta preposición nos es útil para expresar que el objeto o sujeto está ubicado en frente de
otro sujeto u objeto:

• The police station is in front of the school.

La estación de policía está frente a la escuela.
Next to
Significa al lado de

• My house is next to a big library / Mi casa está al lado de una biblioteca grande
Between
Significa en medio de o entre
• The police station is between the bank and my sister’s house / La estación de policía
