My History

1. Earthworms were brought to South Africa by European settlers. When bringing plants
over Earthworms came along with them, they were inside the soil.
2. It is hard to find Earthworm fossils because they are soft-bodied, you can only find trace
fossils of them wiggling their way through sand or dirt.

My Family Tree

3. Earthworms are classified in Animalia. It’s phylum is Annelid. Its class is Oligochaeta. It’s
order is Opishopora. It’s family is Lmabrichiae. It’s genus is Eisenia. It’s species is
Fetida.

My Anatomy

4. The head of an Earthworm is called an anterior.

5. The tail of an Earthworm is called a posterior.
6. Earthworms do not have bones.
7. An adult Earthworm will have about 120-170 segments.
8. The function of the clitellum is to help make cocoons so that they can have babies.
9. Earthworms have 5 hearts.
10. Draw a worm with labeled parts.
11. Earthworms use their muscles to push themselves forward.
12. At the point when the food leaves their gizzard, it goes into their stomach digestive
system. The food is separated there and absorbed into their blood. By then it is passed
on to all bits of their body.
13. Earthworms breathe through their lungs because they do not have lungs.
14. In order to reproduce Earthworms need to mate with one another. Earthworms have
both female and male reproductive organs. They face the opposite way and pass sperm
to one another making a cocoon, when they back out of their cocoons they deposit
sperm and eggs.

Can’t Live Without Me

15. Worms help to extend the proportion of air and water that gets into the earth. They
separate normal issue, like leaves and grass into things that plants can use. Exactly
when they eat, they desert castings that are a totally huge sort of excrement.
16.
17. Night crawlers take after free estate help. They help to "turn" the earth—chopping down
normal issue from the top and mixing it in with the soil underneath. Another captivating
action that the worm has is that of making manure. If there are 500,000 worms living in
an area of place where there is soil, they could make 50 tons of castings. That takes
after organizing 100,000 one pound coffee containers stacked up with castings. These
proportionate 500,000 worms burrowing into a segment of place that is known for soil
can make a waste system equal to 2,000 feet of 6-inch pipe
