Resumen
La presente tesis tiene como objetivo mejorar la gestión académica en la
Institución Educativa Privada San Juan Bautista, la cual está ubicada en el
distrito de San Juan de Lurigancho; cuenta con cuarenta y tres colaboradores,
además está organizada por el consejo directivo, área administrativa, de
pedagogía y comunitaria. De igual manera brinda sus servicios a la comunidad
con un buen plan de estudio en los niveles de inicial, primaria y secundaria,
pero también debería buscar la mejora de su personal. Por otro lado, la gestión
académica de la institución abarca la matrícula, el registro de las calificaciones
y la elaboración de horarios, estos procesos son registrados en documentos
escritos lo que ocasiona problemas y el más común ha sido la pérdida de ellos.
Muchas veces la redacción de los datos ha sido errónea, además que la
información se encuentra organizada en fólderes hace que genere demora e
incomodidad porque los encargados no podrían realizar la búsqueda de ella
con rapidez. Por tanto, se implementó un software para el mejoramiento de la
gestión académica, utilizando la metodología de Rational Unified Process
(RUP) para la identificación de requisitos y para el modelado del software, para
su desarrollo se empleó el lenguaje Visual .NET y la base de datos fue creada
en SQL server, generando mayor agilidad en dichos procesos. Este software
es de gran apoyo para la secretaria y docentes ya que sus funcionalidades son
fácil de comprender generando su satisfacción.

Abstract
This thesis has as main objective to improve the academic management in the
private Educational Institution San Juan Bautista, which is located in San Juan
de Lurigancho district; it has forty three workers, in addition to this it is
organized by the managing board, administrative area, pedagogy and
community. Likewise, it offers its services to the community with a good study
plan in early, elementary and secondary levels, but also they should look for the
improvement of its staff. On the other hand, the academic management of the
institution includes the enrolment, qualifications register and the schedules
elaboration, these processes are registered in written documents which cause
problems and the most common has been the lost of them. Many times the data
redaction has been mistaken; also the information is organized in files, this
generates delays and inconvenience because the responsibles couldn’t make a
fast research of it. Therefore, for the improvement of the academic
management a software was implemented, using the Rational Unified Process
(RUP) methodology for the requirements identification and for the software
modeling, for its development Visual.NET language was used and the database
was created in SQL server, generating greater agility in the mentioned
processes. This software is a big support for the secretary and teachers
because its functionalities are easy to understand generating their satisfaction,
