x E - Engine (all in the green, Pump ON) CROSSWIND
x L - Location (over open fields) First Crab into Runway
x L - Look Out (clear of other aircraft) Then align with wing low into the wind
DOWNWIND PRE- SHUT DOWN

x F- Fuel (quantity and pump ON) Check Magnetos for drop
x A - All Clear (Runway and area) Throttle to Idle
x W - Wind (direction and strength) Wait 2 minutes for engine cool down
x N - Nose wheel, Weight shift only Check magnetos for dead cut/Magnetos OFF
In our case check brakes and tyre Throttle shut when propeller has stopped
inflation Radio OFF/Time OFF

If in the Air x Radio Fuse not interrupted
x Force Land as in Engine Failure in Flight x Transmit Switch Re-try
When on the ground If Complete Failure remains
x Vacate Aircraft x Continue as per Flight plan
x Use Extinguisher direct at base of fire x Continue with Transmissions

EMERGENCY RADIO FAILURE


DITCHING LIGHT & PYROTECHNIC SIGNALS
IN FLIGHT
x Radio Distress Call - Position Red Cont./Flare - Give Way/ Cont. Circling
x Approach into Wind Red Flashes - Do not Land/Move away
x Touchdown at lowest possible practical Green Continuous - You may land
speed Green Flashes - Return to Aerodrome wait
x Land on crest of wave if possible or, for permission to land
x if the swell is heavy, along the swell White - Land after Green and proceed to apron
x Release safety harness/Remove headset ON THE GROUND
x Leave cockpit Red Continuous - STOP
Red Flashes - Move clear of landing area
Swim away from aircraft to:
Green Continuous - You may take off
x Inflate Life-vest
Green Flashes - You may move on apron
x Activate fluorescent-die marker/Beacon
White - Return to starting point on aerodrome
If the aircraft floats, hold onto it
