5E Original Idea Modified to
Before watching the videos,
students will write a couple
Engage sentences about what they know
already and then what they hope
they will learn about. Students will
be shown 2 or 3 different videos of
what are tornadoes and levels of
them and going in depth about them.
Students will go around the room
doing an kagan strategy, stand up
Explore pair up and discuss what they
already knew about tornadoes the
first round, then next round they will
discuss what they learned from the
video, lastly their favorite or
interesting fact
The class will go through a
slideshow/powerpoint together and
Explain while doing that they will be creating
their own foldable where they are
writing all these notes down. After
they will keep them with them so
they are able to ask certain
questions for the guest speaker we
will have.
Using the knowledge they have

Before watching the
videos, students will type

finished they will raise their hands to
get their card sort checked by the
teacher.
Students will have 3 class periods to
create their own tornado and to

what they have learned from our
lesson over tornadoes. Once
finished each student will present
their final product.
There will be an roll a dice and
answer the question paper about
Exit Ticket different areas that we talked about
during the whole topic. Once
finished students will have each
others partners check answers and
then turn them into the tray.

different terms and
illustrations for them to put
together. Once finished
they will turn it in.
Students will create their
own tornado and to
explain all its
characteristics and what
they have learned from
our lesson over
tornadoes. Once finished
each student will record
themselves through
flipgrid explaining their
presentation.
Lastly students will do a
kahoot about different
areas that we talked about
during the whole topic.
