A perpetual holiday is a good

working definition of hell

I. Brainstorming
1. There should be a balance between holidays and working days.
2. If there is a “global holiday”, then nobody will work and this can lead to resources
decreasing, which can lead to famine, poverty and economic issues.
3. People will get quickly bored because they can’t party continuously.
4. People will be confused due to happiness because they won’t get sad. And, to achieve
the happiness you should learn how to be sad.
5. People will lose a lot of their skills because they won’t use their brains. (They will be
like zombies)
6. People will become lazy, so they will get fat and if you don’t exercise, you will have a
lot of health problems.
7. The level of pollution will be reduced because nobody will pollute anymore. (if there
is a “global holiday”) – this argument is against the idea of a holiday being ,,hell,,
8. The evolution of our planet will bog down. Yes, evolution would stagnate.

A perpetual holiday is a good working definition of hell

All over the world, people treat holidays as a time to rewind and spend time doing what
you love. However, holidays are always limited to days or weeks, as people need to reassume
their daily activities and responsibilities. But what if people were forced into a perpetual
holiday? Personally, I see this as a highly destructive idea with negative consequences on many
levels.
Firstly, being in a state of continuous procrastination* can have damaging effects on the
psyche. People enjoy spending their free time with friends and families, engaged in various
entertaining activities. Nevertheless, I strongly believe that too much time spent with others, or
simply spending your time erratically (in mod neregular, haotic) will surely affect you on a
psychological level. The once fun activities may become dull, while routines can turn into
unpleasant experiences.
Secondly, a perpetual holiday can be a depressing experience. Not having an anchor, a
purpose to push you forward in life, might cause a shift in a person’s mentality. Without having a
set of responsibilities and obligations, a person’s life would become a set of meaningless
experiences. Once a person becomes bored with doing the same things over and over again and
sees no future or purpose in his actions, depression sets in.
Last but not least, a continuous holiday can be a real nightmare for a functioning society.
A world in a state of constant break from activities would most likely lead to chaos and anarchy.
Being on holiday means that people no longer contribute to economic growth and development,.
This will eventually lead to the collapse of societies, to famine and poverty. In turn, if everybody
is on holiday, who would govern our world and insure the peace and security of the people?
To sum up, a perpetual holiday would constitute a recipe for disaster. I for one believe
that a holiday must not be perpetual, as human beings need something more than just holidays in
order to survive and lead balanced lives.
