Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson, better known as Katy Perry, was born in California, USA on
October 25th 1984. Her singing career started when she was just a teenager, when she
decided to pursue fame as a gospel singer. She signed a contract with a record label named
Red Hill Records and released her first album in 2001, which wasn’t successful. After that, she
moved to Los Angeles and started working with many producers. In 2008, after signing a
contract with Capitol Records, she became famous thanks to her single “I Kissed a Girl” and
from that point on, she has topped the U.S. Billboard hot 100 charts with singles like “Teenage
and Dream” and “The One That Got Away” and many more. She has been considered one of
the most successful singers of all time, selling more than 100 million records worldwide since
her career began.
