I. OBJECTIVES
Learning Objectives: At the end of the 60-minute lesson, the students shall be able
to:
1. Identify active and passive voice.
2. Differentiate active voice from passive voice.
3. Change active voice to passive voice and vise versa.

III. PROCEDURE
B. Activity
a. Motivation (5 mins.)
The students will watch ans sing a 1 min. video clip “Passive Voice Song-
Rockin’ English” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ARaEpSAD-ng
The students will observe and take note of the statements found in the lyric of
the song.
b. Task (5 mins.)
The students will classify whether the sentences are in active or in
passive voice. They will write their answers on the appropriate column.
C. Analysis (5 mins.)
1. What makes a statement active?
2. What makes a statement passive?
3. “The man drives the car.”
Who does the action? Is this active or passive?
4. “The car is driven by the man.”
Who receives the action? Is this active or passive?
5. How does active voice differ from passive voice?
- The students and teachers will have an active discussion on Active and
Passive Voice.
E. Application
Using the same group, the students will prepare 2 active and 2 passive voice
sentences about proper waste management (R.A. 9003). The first group will read
their active/ passive sentence and other groups will identify the voice used in the
statement and will transform the statement given. The group who can identify and
transform the statement from active to passive or passive to active voice correctly
will be the next group to read their prepared statements.
